My question is how can i get a current of at least 4 amp in idle engine rpm.

    Thanks
Rewind the coil with more turns per pole. That's the trick.

New gen R15 RR ... the 4 pin one. The same RR came with some models of FZs V1.

Finally I convinced myself to experiment DC conversion on my bike. So once again connected the charged battery. As RR was unplugged so i connected a high gauzewire from +ve terminal of the battery to yellow wire of the socket going to headlight. Every thing lit again and my bike was in DC mode but with no charging. The "EUREKA" moment was when i cranked the bike using self, engine came to life in one attempt. NO BCU BYPASS WAS DONE...VOILA....restarted using kick this time again the engine roared...went for 58kms long trip at night without any problem except battery got discharged after running 20-25 mins....the battery is around 3 yrs old so its ok. daily i charge the battery at night using external charger and plug it back in the morning....searching for APE RR in scrap shops..as i love to do JUGGAD

An idea is oozing out of my mind...How about using both charging and lighting coils to charge the battery but using this circuit? I dont know whether the regulator part of RR will work with DC at its input, as i dont have any proper RR circuit to analyze...if RR supports DC then this circuit can boost charging in stock condition...and can also be converted to full wave after ungrounding the coils in the stator...so electronic gurus kindly throw some light
Use the new gen R15 RR which was also used in FZS V1.

    please please..
LEDs do not work well in a AC/DC setup. These setup provide a kind of pulsating DC current which burns off LEDs very easily.

If you are keen on using LEDs, convert your machine into a full DC setup.

Check the current with Ammeter and if you are not satisfied then go for rewinding.
If your usage is with in the city with lower RPM's Do not rewind.

Forget about Ignition Coil. Its got nothing to do with DC conversion.

And since you purchased the APE RR I am not giving the details of Pulsar 200NS RR now(I have to open the panels).
Try to not use the stock winding. i did it and over the period of time the APE RR burnt off.

The reason is high voltage and low current that the stock windings produce. The more the voltage is, the more the RR needs to regulate it, there by making the RR more vulnerable to burn outs. Also too much current can spoil the RR unit. Balancing the voltage and current using correct thickness of wire and TPP (Turns per pole) is the way to success.

Hey ppl, does any one know if the pulsar UG4's RR unit is available on shelves? is its part number DJ201202? and does it have 4 wires?
I asked a few shops here for the RR unit and they showed me a 6 wire rectifier with partnumber DJ201102. Can i use this to convert to full DC?
There was another RR unit starting with a JK- and this had 4 wires and 2 extra wires which the shopkeeper guy said were sensor wires.

Can i use any of the above rectifiers? The guy said these were original and were for a pulsar, but i'm suspecting that JK partnumber component is for Platina.
    need help!

Re: Convert AC/DC bike to ALL DC.

Currently I ride a Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme 2009 model. I purchased a pre owned model and happy with it. Now I want to convert to full dc. Are there any plug and play parts available from other HH models which can be a direct swap rather than getting coil rewinded. If rewinding is the only option then also I am ready for it. But I need a full reliable setup. I am planning to plonk in the following for my lighting setup.

    1. 3800 Lumen H4 LED Headlight Bulb Cyclops USA | eBay
    2. Auxmart LED Bar Spot Beam 30w 4" LED Light Bar 12V 24V Offroad ATV UTV 4x4 4WD Camper Truck Trailer Boat LED Fog Lamp Van RZR-in Daytime Running Lights from Automobiles & Motorcycles on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group

I need to know whether the current battery of 7amp is sufficient for full night driving.
Is there any alterations I need to do

I request the seniors to pitch in and share their valuable inputs regarding the same.

    Thanks in advance

Yes you can use 200 ns rr these parts generally never get kaput as there are no moving parts inside.

Light up 55/60w instead of stock 35 and flicker free... Also like to install mobile charger etc..

If 200NS's RR is available at your place, I will give you further information like pics, amperage, heat dissipation etc.

Yes, I rewound with 19 SWG wire and made it full DC. However, it seems to be sufficient only for 35W and not 55W. Because, when the HID is on, the horn sounds very weak. I have a 3.5 Amp windtone horn. Also, I am using a Chinese HID, which must be consuming more than 35W. The charging has certainly improved a lot. However, the current produced now is just about sufficient for HID + stock horn + other stock lights viz., turn signals and tail lamp etc. I guess rewinding with 18SWG wire is required for better functioning in DC more. Rest, there are experts on this forum, who can guide much better.

Could anyone please let me know which two wires go to the +ve and -ve terminal of the batter and which two to the ignition coil. There are four wires: 1. Blue-white 2. Blue-white 3. Black-yellow 4. White.

I will deeply appreciate the help/assistance.
