Normally Glamour Electric Start 12 pole coil will be having 60 to 65 turns each pole, No need to change the Gauge. Because the Flux of the Magnet is low as compared to other vehicles. The stock setup was a Halfwave rectifier. If you change it to fullwave, its enough for all Loads. Normally Glamour start without the Battery, after modification the Bike won't startup without the Battery. But it will give enough volt & supply Max of 5 to 6 Amps if its properly connected..

    Just a simple calculation
    Headlight - 35W
    Tail Lamp - 5W
    parking lamp - 1, Speedometer Lights - 3Nos, Totally 4Nos of 3w Bulb,
Charging For Battery At 1 Amps = 10 to 12 Watts

    Overall load on the coil = 35+5+12+(Charging 10W) = 62Watts
    Amp = 62/12 = 5.16 Amps

This is more than enough to Light up a HID Kit and even for Charging a battery (Need to change all other Lights to LED)

If you want more current than this go for 19 SWG, But you wont get More than 7 Amps, Its also related to the Magnetic Flux in the Magnet

Don't wind the coil with different turns in each pole. SWG related to Current, Only turns determine the volts. Proper winding will give a good result.

If you need more help mail me at [email protected]

    Thanks

    Mr Yogesh
No Need to go for Ape RR
You can buy a Pulsar UG4 RR the Part number is DJ201202... (Cost's Rs - Around 450/-)
If you want Ape RR then ask for OLD APE RR(4 wire) (Cost Rs 1100/-)

    Decide...

    Thanks

Thanks bro Amjeth , but i want to upgrade to 55w HID kit and it will take 4 - 4.5ah current and i already have dual tone horns in my bike from last 3 years and i have 7 ah ups battery from last 3 years , so for that i need to rewinding my stator coils and need Ape rr to get more current and more voltage .
here i checked everywhere , no one is selling old Ape rr unit even not the big dealers of Piaggio parts and not even service station . and i really need it very badly . but here no one is helping me in getting that ape rr unit

    3. Stock winding(21g) giving 9.5 to 10 V only.
    4. Rewinded (19g) gave 6.5 to 7 V only.
    5. Again rewinded with 21g giving more turns.......now giving 13.5V
    6. Everything else was performed as required.

    Now issues are:
Discharge rate is faster than charging rate.
    How to rectify it?????????????????

The CDI is running from battery(12V 4Ah). therefore, whenever the battery is near to getting empty, the bike does not run as it normally does.....it kind of runs when fuel is empty.....stops ..goes...stops...goes....!!!!!

Now I having to recharge the battery at a garage.....after little long trips.....load is somewhat 120-130W.....

Please help.....how to increase charging rate??????????

Re: Pulsar 150 UG3 converted to full DC finally.

has anyone done coil rewinding and dc conversion on their dazzler ?
I found out in this thread that dazzler has 12-pole coil.
Is the procedure any different from that for other bikes ?

This xBHPian's (. @Srinivas sr143sr) persistence paid off & he got 6 wired Ape RR eventually. On the bill it has same Part# : ED22158 . This means

    either (very unlikely)
    1. Billing software is not updated with new Part# details => leads to inconsistent parts distribution reports

    or (very likely)
    2. Part# has remained same, 2 extra wires are added in new version. Someone (. @gmagesh14) remarked they're(2 extra wires) for Ammeter.

    Edit: @Cleaner got the Part# for the new APE-RR : ED33204
Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc - Page 499
The billing software could be at fault, parts management in Piaggio is a mess, trust me. Check the packaging to see which part number is written there.

Can you anyone please let me know where in Chennai we can get APE OEM RR. When I contacted the APE Service Centers, they said they don't sell spares over the counter.

    Thanks,

Here in kolkata it will be 1400approx only , so it will be better if you could buy that from karolbagh .
& if your coil is not rewinded yet , then we can get is rewind it with 18gauge wire , machine winding .

    ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

Rewinded the 1985 Royal enfield bullet's coil in single phase manner with 18gauge , calculated output is 223W , upon installation on bike it generates 203W max at 5300rpm . take a look guys , I hope this information might help you
