Petronas 4T 5000 is the fully synthetic one in Petronas. 4000 must be semi-synth.
For changing every 500kms. a mineral oil will be more than enough!

20w50 is the standard for Pulsar 180 I think. Check in their thread what they have to say.

The reason the HH guys have gone with 10w30 is that it gives better mileage than the thicker oils that were previously used. It all started with the CBZ-X back in 2006 and then followed with the Karizma R series and now they are pouring it in all their bikes. The worst part is that they are pouring it in the old Zma's and other models as well. I would suggest that you stick to the old grade(20w40) and see whether the symptoms persist. If they do then the problem lies elsewhere.

@Udayrr the thing is that 30 grade oil i feel is just too thin for indian conditions .unless you live in a cool area , 30w oil wont last very long .

but the oil necessarilly isnt the culprit . how old are your piston rings ? and is your bike smoking at the exhaust when idle or revved ?

Why do you want to change it every 500kms???!! Please have some concern towards mother nature! I hope its a typo.

Castol power 1 racing

Guys i want to change my engine oil for my ZMA which has done around 6000 K Approx..!! im currently using Heronda Honda oil which is 10w30...!! I wanted to go with the Mobil oil 10w40 ( mineral oil ) but couldnt find it....so i have made up my mind to go for castrol power 1 Racing oil which is available in 10w40...! can u guys let me know..if i can change the grade of the oil i.e from 10w30 to 10w40 will it affect my engine..?? And please could anyone tell me its price..

No problem, you can go with 10w40. You can also try Petronas Sprinta 4T 5000, which is also fully synthetic&comes at half the price of Castrol Power 1 Racing. My friend is using it in his ZMA&is more than happy with it.
