  • Guys I want to switch to better oil from 100km on my 200NS, which I will use at least till 3k kms.
    Everyone recommended Motul 3000 20w50 but it isnt available in my area.

    Can someone suggest some Shell/Mobil1/other brand mineral oils which are as equally good as Motul 3000!

    or should I simply stick to dtsi oil for now?

    I tracked down some mineral oils after going through the forums extensively, here's the list
    -->Gulf Pride 4T 20w50
    -->Mak 4T 20w50
    -->Shell AX5 20w50

    Are these as good as Motul 3000? Tell me the order of preference so I can choose based on their availability.

      Gulf pride 4T 20w40 is a great oil. So I think, its 20w50 version would be similar. but I haven't used it or heard from anyone.
      Mak 4t is a good oil not great but good.
      Shell ax5 is ok- ok. (no for me)
      .
      BTW, Bajaj 10k oil is a semi synth oil. So why dont you use semi-synth? try Valvoline premium 4T. I think 200NS comes factory filled with SS oil just like KTM, so why down grade?

          Not sure about P200 NS but KTM surely comes with SS oil. confirmed from the dealer itself. So, using after market SS oil is no problem. even if you stick to bajaj 10k oil then that's also SS..
          just be sure they dont void warrenty. If they say bajaj 10k oil is mandatory then get it in written from them
          and then only shift to other oil.

            Its true ,most bike come with mineral oil . I think all of hero bikes are filled with their own brand of 10w30 mineral oil , including karizma R , cbz xtreme , impulse etc.

            That OEM oil is of no good for bigger bikes

                We have had good reviews from ppl using gulf. You can try it. But how difficult it is to get hold of a Yamalube 15W50( the R15 oil - Costs 500 something) in your town. Its same as Motul 5100. Try it first.

                        its mineral oil. Though the company says its synthetic blend (meaning semi-synth). percentage of semi-synth molecules are negligible.the only semi synth oil from gulf is in 10w30 grade, comes in white bottle.there's another option for you also MAK 4T (mineral oil) its also avalable in 20w50 grade.regarding Yamalube 15w50 (semi-synth) its available in most of the yamaha svc's

                        • Hello ol' friends! How are you all? I wanted to ask an oil query for my trusty Zma, here goes.

                          I have been using the Motul 15w50 semi synthetic oil for quite some time now. Love the smoothness of it and the overall improvements in midrange etc. But did not quite like the stiffness it caused in the gears and wanted a change. Went out looking for the Petronas but wasnt available in this side of Mumbai, with dealers saying company has shut shop etc. The Motul 7100 10w40 FS was there and picked it. Its for the first time am trying a fully synthetic, so wanted to know your opinions on this variant.

                          The main criteria of getting the oil was performance & smoother gear shifts. Mileage is taken care of any way!

                            Motul 7100 is a very good one. But word of caution though, you are spoiled once you use it as you'll never find any other oil to be that smooth.
