YOUR BIKE STARTS TO FLY TO THE MOON on the first crank!!

Seriously would you do that to your bike? I mean SERIOUSLY!!!!!

Different oil have different minerals added to them, you can't just mix everything like LASSI and use in your engine!!

      Cheers!

      The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Please go back and read the comments buddy. You are going to ruin your engine if you're gonna mix different brands of oils, unless it's of the same brand/grade. If you feel you lack some knowledge regarding oils. Go to the first page of this thread.

          Cheers!

          • If my friend bought 1 litre Petronas 20W50 and I have Castrol 20w50. We will share half litre and we each have a mix of 1litre Castrol and Petronas.

If it is dangerous then I won't do such experiments.

            • Lol. where you just being ignorant of the things VJ was saying ? or are you just typing on.
Mixing many kinda oils of different grades MAY damage the engine, its not something that has reached an answer or agreement here, but you are free to do so. and experiment in whichever proportion you like, but from this forum the general reply to your query is, don't go on mixing oils like crazy.

              Rest is purely your choice.

              Cheers Mate

              • Blackthorn, Krish. I don't know much about engine oils. I will take your words. I read most of the comments randomly. I will not mix them at all. It is a dangerous thought that came to my mind after reading some comments of someone using car oils for bikes and not happy with one or the other engine oil brand.
Forget it. I will stick what the user manual says/recommends as 20W50.

                • Hi friends,

A general query.. gone through many pages however Im still not clear with this.

Yamaha recommended oil for Gladiator DX 2006 model is 20w40. I wanted to use Fully Synthetic oil and looks like its not available in 20w40.

Please clarify if i can use Shell Advance Ultra SAE J 300 10W-40?

                  Thanks in advance.

Not a problem. Stick to the manufacturer recommended oil always.

Try in Karol Bagh, lots of oil stuff there. I myself got a chain lube there when I happened to drop to Delhi. Lots of brands are out there, Petronas, Shell and Motul. Go for the one which your budget allows.

Most members here use the 15w50 Motul. If you can get them, you're lucky.

For more info, go back this thread a few pages or the starting page, you'll get all the info you need.

                          Cheers!

Not really, I'd suggest it. Reason being, what works for one, might not really work for others. If you go back to his post, he mentioned mixing three grades of oil, with different specs, which is a sure shot way to reduce your engine life.

Plus, mixing a little bit of other oils won't product that an effect. Take for example our bikes, we run with a particular oil for a while and then plan to switch to another face. Now given that you drain the old oil, there is at least gonna be some of the remaining oil in tight spots of the engine. So mixing a few hundred ML here and there shouldn't result in any effect.

                              Overdo, and you ruin everything!

                              Cheers!
