I was of the impression that Honda markets mineral oil sold in grey plqastic bottles and synthetic oil sold in black plastic bottles, never heard of a semi synthetic oil they market, please elaborate. Your last line has put a lot of issues to rest.Originally posted by Traveller01 View Post

Vibrations are part of any bike, you can't eradicate them altogether, an oil alone can't reduce vibrations per se. But TVS recommends either 10w30 or 10w40, you can get any grades of oil in these. I'd suggest you go for Mobil, Valvoline if you can source them or try Shell AX3.Originally posted by 0mnipresent View PostHey.
I own TVS Apache rtr 160.June 2012 model and it has done 6000kms.
Please suggest me some good engine oils for my bike.
My bike vibrates at 55-60kmph and engine gets heated
very soon if i rev more.
I personally used Yamalube 15w50 for my 125cc Victor for close to two years, and the performance was nothing less than bliss. Gear shifts were butter smooth, engine smootheness significantly increased, and sort of a turbo whine started coming from my engine after using it, and it is nothing sort of a music to ears. After 5 years of going strong, opened her engine just two months back, just for the sake of a engine overhaul.Originally posted by anilkumar9Haiii... By far the best oil I've used after Valvoline. Couldn't source Valvoline these days.
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Motul 3100
Hi Riders,Recently I went to a local Engine oil shop here at Siliguri to buy Motul 5100 15W50 semi synthetic oil for my pulsar 150.since the stocks had finished, the shopkeeper suggested me to buy Motul 3100 gold 20W50 instead. I saw the pack carefully & found that even this was also of technosynthesis grade & bought it. before this I never used Motul 3100 gold 20W50. so I surfed the official site of Motul to know about the product more.I was shocked to find that this particular product was not in their site even. Now I doubt that whether I bought a fake product or not.pls shed some light. Had anyone heard or used Motul 3100 gold 20W50 before?

Yes, I'm awar eof the 1.2l part, but wow, i'm really surprised to hear a good review of castrol oil, had been using castrol activ 4t mineral for quite some time and had not so good review about it. So was skeptical about this. Anyways it's great to know it works fine on the NS. And i'm also surprised that they provide oil in such small quantity too. I usually buy 2 bottles of oil, and keep the rest for top up or next oil fills.
Cheers

Surprised. The same stuff that comes in metal canister now in a plastic can, and at that same premium price. I've read some good reviews about Power1 too I can trust on your bike for your next oil update, Krish. You swapping to Castrol?Originally posted by krish2778 View PostYes, I'm awar eof the 1.2l part, but wow, i'm really surprised to hear a good review of castrol oil, had been using castrol activ 4t mineral for quite some time and had not so good review about it. Haha, no buddy, motul it is , need to try and source Shell, Aargee advised that's it better and more cost efficient than motul , but i'm done with catrol, i found a motul dealer very close to my place, so i'm saved from having to use crapstrol activ mineral again. But it's nice to hear that the oil is serving good , the FS one ofcourse, but would love to hear the same after some 3-4k kms riding done with this oil, want to know how good it holds.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostSurprised.
