Sir, will it be good for Fz too?
I prefer synthetic oil because im a highway commuter mostly & prefer longer drain interval + i rev the bike harder most of the time.

I always used it in Winter and it was good. Don't know about FZ. Never used it in the summer so don't know how it will act in that either!

Why not try 7100 for a change. The feel is close to 300 . Personally never felt any different experience from 7100 and 300V

Perhaps one of my buddies used it in his 180 no change whatsoever the clutter was slightly reduced but the gear shift was still clunky.

          Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
          The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

          • Was reading about car oils in bike in first page: so it means the bike will be smoother then before along with gearshifts but only drawback is the clutch slippage with will damage dono wat may be clutch plated in long term(just my guess)

But I'm using motul 5100 and its about 4.3k old oil and I'm experiencing this clutch slippage from 2k on odo ....this is a bike oil but still why this slippage...BTW because if this clutch slippage my RpM meter got damaged and got stuck at 6k

But this smooth engine and gearshift from car oil is really tempting ...BTW what is the cost of car oil

            • Im presently on Motul 300v, bought from a city 150 kms away from my place because there arent any Motul dealers at my place. Trust me, im getting the best of best performance with 300v, i have done several long rides on Motul 300v, the engine feels very smooth, gearshifts are wonderful, but heard that Using motul 300v, the head gaskets give up soon. Is that true??
& yes, i have recently used Mobil-1 Racing 10W-40 in my fz, performance was super, after that i have used Elf Moto4 Xt tech 10W-50 Fully synthetic, the performance was same as Mobil-1 Racing, Engine was butter smooth, no drop in oil levels even after 3.5k kms.
Motul 7100 is not available at my place.
There is only Power-1 Racing available at my place.

Buy a 1 ltr pack of Mobil Delvac 1300 Super 15w40(heavy duty diesel engine oil) for around 260 Rs. and never buy any synthetic again!! Atleast in an FZ! Would be an exceptional oil for long distance riders.

What I want to say is explained beautifully in the first post of the following thread.

Motorcycle Oil...Are You Paying Too Much? - TrueStreetCars.com

Using the second litre in my fazer and have completed nearly 5000 km on this oil.

I really dont understand why ppl use 900-1000 rs oil in bikes like fazer/fz etc.. they are not track machines.. KTMs, CBRs are understandable.

Nice to see people using it...how is the smoothness compared to other bike oils? also do we get that oil in xw50 grade

Anyway just bought valvoline 4t premium synthetic blend 2 packs for 280rs each

As you are now addicted to using diesel engine oils,Please use Mobil Delvac 1400 once and then you will forget 1300 !
                    (Available for Rs.280/ to Rs.290/-)
I had purchased this oil primarily for my car and used the leftover in splendor.
Those who really want a "Full synthetic oil" can go for Mobil 1 Delvac 5W40. It is available for Rs.850/- per litre. I am going to use it in my new xtreme once it crosses 8k on the odo.
(Can be sourced easily as it is used in all new gen Multijet/DDIS,CRDI etc)

                    OT-
Use this oil in their old gen IDI diesel engine once, will forget every other oil for sure.
Same goes to 2 stoke motorcycle's gearbox whose recommended oil grade is 20W40/15W40 diesel oil.

                    • The Shell Rimula R3X and the Rimula R4 are Good oil that can be used in a wet clutch environment...I am using the R3x with good results, and am hearing good reports from those who had already used it and done about 2,000 kms with this oil....Elsewhere in other countries owners of Motorcycles have been using the Shell Rotella diesel oil for almost 6 years now.

Unfortunately/fortunately I bought 5 liter pack of Delvac 1300 and till now only consumed 2.x litres. Would have loved to try the 1400 grade. But I am kind of booked for the next year on my leftover.

I dont think 5w40 and 850 bucks is justified on a low cc motorcycle engine that we use(100cc to 220 cc mostly, would be good grade for high end bikes as shown in the link I attached in my previous post). Anyways, why go anywhere else when you have a flawless 300V (double ester) in similar price range.

                        • @Psr, Yea I've been reading all the goodies about Shell and Mobil heavy diesel engine oils. Its cheap comparatively and works as good/better to any bike specific oil . Is shell rimula available here apart from the shell petrol bunks? available in what quantity and grade? I wonder if its that good why don't oil companies officially reccomment it for motorcycles too

                          • my vespa needs 5w40 grade. right now they selling it for around 280 per liter. according to the manual the oil change interval is 6000 km or 6 months whichever is earlier.

should i opt for motul latest series? or delvac series? presently i an happy with the performance of their oil but i won't know if these oils ( market) will be worth the extra money they charging

Mobil Delvac ?? For fz? Man do the specs match perfectly???
Usage of Castrol GTX will eat the clutch plates soon as friction is messed
Rarely heard about Mobil Delvac being used in fz/ other motorcycles

                              • Recommendation ZMA old (No R model). I have been using castrol power 1 and not happy with this engine produce heat which I can feel in my leg near the fuel tank. How good if I try diesel oil this any disadvantage because recently I changed my clutch plates.
