so what is the conclusion?
what do we use for transmission oil? the plane normally used 20W40 oil used as engine oil or the gear oil 90 grade?
i guess honda ASC uses some other oil than the normal 20W40 oil used as engine oil...i can tell that by the amount they charge in the billPulsar 200NS parts list

SVC chor hai...i'd rather do it with local mechanics...atleast i can see what they are doing...i managed to push my way into bajaj SVC but at honda...they just dont allow...its been about 8-9 months i havent changed the transmission oil...changed engine oil a month back by self...Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostConclusion. Guys, for small engines, such as transmission in our centrifugal clutch types, 90EP can also be used, as well as 20w40 multigrade engine oils can also be used. Reason being two, I called up the HONDA SVC guy today, a friend of mine there. This is what he said. We can either use 90EP or the engine oil itself, as the gear box systems aren't so demanding. It's completely normal to use a multigrade 4S engine oil in the gearbox or the 90EP the latter being a little more thicker meaning more stickiness and smoothness. And more thickness means more tightness, that's why 90EP are used in gearboxes where the demands are higher.
So for these types of transmissions, the engine oil itself would suffice for the tranny to work without a glitch.

so EP 90 is better than using the engine oil? i understand these are tiny engines and tiny gearboxes but these are our beloved machines and hence want the best for it...thanks for the clarification
