Hesitation in initial cold performance or the usage of oil itself

Hesitation in overall ride. Usually the bike is super smooth after an oil change. It may be because I ovefilled STP carb cleaner last time. Recommendation is full bottle in around 35 litre petrol. I poured half bottle in 5-6 litres. Using fresh fuel from past 3-4 days.

That's a tad too much considering the fuel to additive ratio! But I've always wanted to use the carb cleaner but never gave it a second thought.

Any idea where can one source STP cleaners from, especially here in our country would be real helpful.!

After experiencing Mobil Delvac1300 in Fazer, Unicorn(mine), CT100 and the Rimula R3X in CT100; the clear winner between these two is Mobil Delvac1300 in terms of smoothness, response and longevity. In fact my friend changed Delvac after 3500kms that too because he looked at the odometer and not because of lack of smoothness.
Unfortunately Delvac 1300 is currently not available and Delvac 1400 comes in 4 or 5 Liters only at my place. So settled with Castrol Power1 Racing 4T this summer.
But if one wants to go for Diesel oil I recommend Delvac over Rimula.

STP all variants were available in reliance autozone, I dont know about present state. As its quite far off from my place I took three bottles. Frankly speaking, it does not do any good, placebo effect it gives after pouring the can is very subjective.
After reading about it, I found its 95% Kerosene.

Please don't use Castrol Power 1 still I'm running and feel crap. Engine produce lot of heat I can feel in my thigh, after 700 Km oil lose its quality. Next week I'm going pour Rimula 3X in three bikes Karizma(mine), Apache and glamor lets see the smoothness and heat spreader.

                    Again I recommend Mobil Delvac.

Some members say Castrol is Crapstrol but this particular Oil is definitely a very good one.
Castrol Power1 Racing 4T 10w40 (Metal container) was my first FS oil and I used it for 8000+kms. It was even better than Motul 300V 10w40, 15w50 in my Unicorn. I could not push any FS oil (Motul, Shell, ELF) to 5000+ kms except the old CastrolP1R 4T. I have to see how this new CastrolP1R4T 10w50 fares.

In the price of Castrol Racing 4T I would have preferred Delvac 1400 4 or 5 Liter pack.

Regarding Delvac vs Rimula, its actually Mobil vs Shell, as you have tried both you are in a position to tell about its smoothness. But as soon as it is poured, the smoothness is felt. The oil is thick and the smoothness is not because of oil flow (which is mostly in case of FS oil, they flow excellent, are light and smooth). This smoothness is because of the additive package. This may, or rather 'does' contain friction modifiers in little amounts.

My preference for Delvac 1300 is derived only and only because this is API SJ compliant. As our motorcycles are equipped with a spark plug(Oh, one or more spark plugs considering the Pulsars) any oil burnt will result in fouling due to high ash levels in diesel specific oils. Nothing to worry for well conditioned bikes which hardly burn any oil.

I am full game for Rimula series and will try for myself to decide what works well in my bike. Yet to try Mobil 1400, Shell R3X, Shell R4.. These three oils are on my hit list!!

Primary Heat in an Internal combustion engine comes from the Combustion itself, and secondary heat is produced due to friction of moving parts....The Fins on the Cylinder head directly exchanges engine heat into surrounding air, in an Air cooled engine....further the engine oil has dual role of lubrication and also to take the heat away from hot areas...
If the lubrication is good then the heat generated reduces, and this is what you have experienced......the ZDDP in the Rimula helps in this.

Since there is a discussion of diesel engine oil being used in bikes...and with many memebrs successfully testing it and have got positive result i wanted to try it...but the vehicle in question is different....i wanted to ask that will diesel oils be good for scooters like activa?? there is no question of clutch slippage in these..

for my next oil change i was thinking to get the castrol's special oil for gearless scooters....but then i saw a 1 litre bottle of mobil devlac 1300 in a shop nearby...now confused what to use...the scoot is 50k kms old...and has seen a variety of oils from honda oil to servo oils...all mineral though...

i am in no hurry since i just poured honda oil in my scoot last month...will be doing oil change after around 4 months now...

I just read the last 2 pages with great interest and would be anxious to know if the delvac/300v can be used in an FI engine, specifically the ceeber two-fifty?

Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

Why not! There is no problem or will be caused whatsoever using DEO on an FI or a carb irrespective of the fuel feed system. The fuel feed system doesn't come into play here. Indeed two of buddies use the 300v in their 250

Castrol Power 1 Racing have been a 10w50 graded oil ever i think (even in the previous tin can) , while the recomended oil grade for unicorn was 20w40 earlier and now Honda is supplying 10w30 , nahi ? Anyway , an XXw40 grade oil is sufficient for it I feel . Also, why push the oil like that beyond it's limits in kilometers or duration ? What is the purpose of this competition ?

Motul 300V is certified for motorcycle use . Delvac is certifed for diesel engine only , it's use on motorcycles being experimental ( with promising results yet but usual caveats apply ) .
