Filled the crankcase of my 23k kms run Fz-s with Shell Ax-7 Semi synthetic 10w-40.
The bike goes Zoom, engine revs super free.
Awesome Engine oil.

Sure will go ahead with a diesel oil...probably delvac 1300(read at many places here it has more cleaning properties) and a query for my bike was (eventhough i am not trying DEO for next 2-3 years...will look forward to extensive experiments and results in this thread and decide) that it has recomended grade of 20W50 and i havent seen or read of any DEO of such a grade...does it even come in that grade?Pulsar 200NS parts list

@Pinaki and Muztariq, can't be well explained. KUDOS! And Muzz, I'd love to mention, I've never quoted that it works "wonders" as such, and as I've stated I personally didn't really find any difference as such from 5100 or 300V or even 7100, perhaps all those money I spend goes to microscopic performance management.
I've also mentioned the pseudo feeling clearly one gets after spending to 1k per liter.
And Mayank, 20w50 oils are a little harder to find especially in diesel engine oils, but personally have seen 10w50 and 15w50 diesel engine oils. If there is one oil I'd love to lay my hands on would be the Delvac 1300. I friggin just can't source it.
But definitely will
Cheers!

Today my ZMA and friend ambition drunk Shell R3X both running smooth. After 40 Km in my ZMA no heating, low vibration and just waiting to cross 200 Km to check clutch smoothness.

Finished 2300 KMS on Delvac 1400 and it still feels like new oil. Color has changed slightly but smoothness remains the same. Oil level did not decrease after extended highway runs.Yet to check the spark-plug for deposits. A 10w30 oil in splendor make the gears rough when engine heats up but nothing like that with this oil.
@Pinaki ji- Try this oil in splendor before the summer ends. As far as splendor is concerned, this is undoubtedly the best engine oil.
I am using this oil to lubricate the chain and it holding on pretty well.

Re: Off Topic - please do not quote the whole of a previous post
Always said so . The gear-shift goes khat-khaat when hot with 10w30 , particularly annoying in summer . Overall engine noise is also unpleasant then . Many riders like roaring exhaust notes and thumps and growling pickup noise . I am particularly sensitive to it , if possible I'd have a totally silent motor . As it is , there is too much chaos on the city roads . 15w40 maybe a good compromise between 10w30 and 20w40 . Am looking for it here . However I wish , i can't try out delvac or rimula just yet . You see I have filled the gulf synth 10w30 just one n a half months back . Also I already hav stock of lots of oil . But if I get a deal on a bulk canister of delvac or rimula soon , something is bound to happen
.
but don't overrun the oil , drop it by 2500 . Any change in fuel mileage with it compared to the 10w30 or 20w40 ?Last edited by Pinaki; 05-09-2013, 01:11 AM.

Okay so, Hail Hitler.
This is the only oil available from Mobil here, the Mobil Delvac MX, and that's 100 Kays away.
Any pointers? Though I've read it, just would love to get some thoughts from your side. Muzz and psr ji.
Cheers!

Mobil Delvac MX 15W-40 has these two ingredients listed on the Indian MSDS:
Good ZDDP content. You can use it with ease.Name CAS# Concentration* TETRAPROPENYL PHENOL 121158-58-5 0.1 - 0.25% ZINC DITHIOPHOSPHATE 68649-42-3 1 - 2.5%
You've given another option to the bikers.
Its API SJ/SL - Even better if you get SL.
EDIT: Are you planning 100 kms ride to buy this oil?? Or what?
Its not advisable. Buy any SS oil rather than going 100 kms for oil!!
If this oil costs 260 rs. add 150 rs to it - 410 Rs.
Buy the R15 SS 15W50 oil in 450 something. You would start flying..
Oils are well bought when passing by a good dealer casually!
Edit 2 -
MOBIL DELVAC SUPER 20W-50 is also available!! Dont know how many on the shelves.Last edited by muztariq; 05-09-2013, 02:03 AM.

Absolutely that's the reason I was pondering about this oil. I'll get a can if possible and stack it and gonna use it for my Victor.
And are you pulling my legs?
R15 oil? And I clearly understand there is little farce hidden in that "R15" oil. After all that's going on here, would I revert to R15 AIL? Ah...ah... just for the sake of science.
But to pass by a good dealer, minimum I need to cover 85Kays
But let's see bud, how this turns out, will definitely keep posted.
20w50 I AM HUNTING ONE FOR MY P220. If you stack one secretly, get ready to be assassinated and I mean it.
Cheers!

Re: Off Topic - please do not quote the whole of a previous post
Hi all,
Update on HDEO Shell Rimula R3X 15w40 after 400kms.
Bike : Honda unicorn 98.xxx kms old
Previous oil : Veedol super swift 10W40 SS oil
FE drop 2kmpl over previous oil. Earlier it was 58kmpl and now it is 56kmpl. Results concluded after 2 FE trials and are consistent.
So the 2kmpl is very negligible % when you compared to the excellent benefits of this HDEO.

Re: Engine Oils
Filled in BPCL MAK NXT. The gear shifts are butter smooth. Heat reduced to a great extent. No issues with pick-up, good throttle response.
Will post updates for FE soon.
Cheerz!!The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!
Headlight can be replaced, Head cannot be. Wear a helmet.
