    Point number 5 : Delvac 1300/1400/MX is not 20W40 but 15W40.
@b7ackthorn : Try to source DELVAC SUPER 20W-50 for your P220. It also has 1-2.5% ZDDP.

      Appreciate the point 5

But there is one hitch, the Delvac MX is API SL, so no problems with that. But CF and CF-4 is where it is stinging me a bit, but later on getting the knack got used to it. Perhaps the MX states the SL and this states bluntly it can be used in gasoline oils, so it sums up. Personally I'd definitely go for it. And indeed when I was searching for a replacement for my 220 this is what I laid my eyes on. But definitely will try to source this too. If I can get these two, definitely I can jack up that guy to get this too. Hail Hilter

Just as a refresher. Below, so fellow folks can understand too.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
      The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Ohk. Thank you oil gods. I Dont get this oil in my area and I'm not keen on using FS as I dont ride a p220, so not familiar with it. By the way why does everyone sound like they own the whole oil business and are oil barons themselves

Most local mechanics in mumbai sell it off to people who come and buy it for about 50rs/liter and then go back and recycle it for use in various industrial needs. So you can give it to your friendly neighbourhood garage

The reason oil companies ask that you recycle or give it to your nearest dealer or your mechanic is the same oil is recycled. If everyone were to dispose the used oil properly it would save oil companies a lot. But this is still and big thriving business that churns out huge profit.

You can either give it to your nearest mechanic. Or you can use it for household purposes, for campfires etc, or *if you know any oil resellers you can can give it to them* or you can burn them off (though not feasible at all the times). We used to burn oil for campfire, but in very small quantities.

But the best practice would be to give it your nearest mechanic.

That solely depends on how much is oil is consumed and/or leaked at times. Top-up as the very word explains it all, is needed when you see the oil level dip below the normal marking required by your vehicle. If you bike is pretty low on on oil or just not upto the mark, top up is required.

But frequent top ups as in, every 200 to 300 KMS means your engine is leaking/evap or there is some other problems.

                  Cheers!

But would you trust a mechanic to just change the oil and drop your bike's keys tohim and go about your work!! At least for me, it's a big no no! But why care about duplicating, there isn't much that can be done with a used oil, unless one is so poor enough to buy an oil can (but in our desh, anything can happen. Incredible India) Our priority is disposal, and what can one do, if it's duplicated, misused. Not our fault right.

I checked with my bike and have used MAK Oil 20W40. There was a dip stick. It's a 2005 P150 Dtsi. Does that make it UG3 ?

The UG3 was introduced in 2006, 2009 was UG4 and 2010 UG4.5. All these were cosmetic changes mainly.

I know that synthetic oils are better than mineral oils..
But in comparision between semi synthetic and fully synthetic oils.. I am confused..
have heard many say that fully synthetic cause gear slip like problems..
                              Is it true..?
then what should we use..SS or FS oil..?
My ride is fz16.. And till now, upto 18k, have used only the stock yamalube..

A synthetic oil will not cause slippages unless you've used the right grade, i.e. motorcycle specific as opposed to gasoline petrol car specific. A motorcycle spec oil be it M, SS FS won't cause clutch slip whatsoever.

The Yamalube you use is SS, and it shouldn't have caused any slippage. You can go ahead and use *Motorcycle Specific* oils in any grade M, SS or S. Yamalube is indeed an excellent oil.
