Right . This is the general drain interval recomendation for motorcycle engine oils under normal duty usage in temperate climates . That doesn't mean however that the oil goes bad the day after the sixth month or the km just after 3000 , but I think you got that alrighty .
For severe duty you have to appropriately reduce this interval . Personally with such things as oil I'd rather err on the safer side - so I drop the oil (mineral) at less than 2000 kms or 4 months whichever is earlier .

Please check your bike's oil filters at the time of next oil change. In my splendor, I have noticed some black colored hard precipitate in the drained engine oil.
(Found after third oil change, oil- Mobil Delvac 1400 14W40)
Somehow the combustion by-product is getting precipitated.
I have cartridge oil filter and when I replaced it, it was as it would be with other oils. Question arises what this black ppt could be. Its coming straight to the strainer. I think the oil is quite thick for your use. You should shift back to other 4T oils. The oil is on the heavier side and on 100 cc or less bikes, it can be difficult to circulate it. As my bike comes with both w40 and w50 recommendation, 15w40 Diesel oils are flowing quite easy in it. As an extreme case there can be oil flow issue in your bike.

I had drained the R3X in my ZMA to check and answer to a member's request, and did not find any residue or any deposits....the oil at that time past 1K Kms was just getting slightly darker...I have the habit of changing engine oil at every 1,400~1,500 Kms (Mineral)and so engine is in prime condition....
Please remember that a diesel oil contains more detergents than conventional oil, and this detergents washes out deposits ,and keeps the engine clean.....
I am close to 1,500 Kms and still running on R3X with no difference in performance ......

I found this residue only after 3rd oil change. However, the performance remained unchanged in the entire drain interval of 2200 kms.
Let me check for residue at next oil change.

Do you mean to say that 15W40 diesel engine oil is more thicker than 20W40 4T oil ? There is no oil flow issue- oil flow to the tappets is visible within 2~3 secs after a cold start.
What else could it be ?

How is the feel of r3x compared to regular mineral bike oil.

There is no comparison...The Rimula R3X is way superior to the other Minerals I had tried...engine feels like it is on FS..

Absolutely true. I have had 5 changes with the Rimula already. Only difference, I'm using R4. Drain period - 1600 to 1800 kms. In short, I have been draining engine oil every month.

Guess you have the the ultimate user experience report on R4.....I think you can extend the change by another 200 kms and see if it makes any difference...

Hmm, I can pen down the experience about the oil. Nothing much to write though.
It performs flawlessly. B2B traffic or continuous highway rides at 90+ speeds, the engine never knocks. Heating is much contained. Mileage is unaffected. 42+ kmpl in city.

I did drain it after 2100 kms for the first change. It hadn't deteriorated at all. But I drain it earlier as a preventive measure. I guess one can do 2k with ease.

This was what I wanted to hear from the difference between the refreshed oil. I used the Mobil Delvac but it was really good, and drained and switched back to Agip. Now I always wanted to use the R4X but unfortunately I couldn't find it here in my hometown.

It's gonna be used in my 125cc workhorse, but can you help me with the grade you've used w.r.t to the spec grade?

                      Cheers!

Great. Thanks mate. The right spec, I don't remember seeing that with any oil resellers in my hometown. I see the Delvac stuff a lot more, but RIMULA, bloody hell!

Perhaps you got confused as to the ash value of an engine oil as opposed to really *deposits* being mentioned. Go through it again, and you'll find your mistake.
