But we're talking bout ZDDP which is already present in engine oils not boron, as psr sir is saying the quantity of ZDDP isn't enough in oils these days, so i feel its better to add an additive. But where do we get it is the question

That's why you have STP, Bardahl (Bajaj synonym for 3M) and 3M engine additives, these are after market stuff which work in the same way, you are free to try these if you intend to. And psr ji long quoted, that ZDDP additives are resold separately, but here in India, I have no clue, and I don't even think they'd sell here, at the least, and you know why.
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
I am having a tough time while sourcing motul 5100 in my locality. I remember some time back yamalube & motul 5100 were exactly same oil packed in different containers. So are they still same or yamalube is now changed. I am asking this as yamalube is easily available at Yamaha svc in my area. So can I use yamalube instead of motul 5100?
Technically both are the same, absolutely no difference whatsoever when in usage. If you get Yamalube, go for it, Yamalube is semi-synthetic and it's an excellent oil.
Cheers!

Now I am more confused.
I would be glad if someone clarifies weather currently yamalube 15w50 & motul 5400 15w50 are still the same oils?

Yea I've read somewhere that 3M have a good oil additive, but what's the cost? If its more than the oil itself then its not worth it.
Actually, I have already gone through that link. That was the story more than 2 years back. I want to know the current scenario.
Currently also its the same, while the manufacture of both oils is same yamalube is slightly changed to suit the needs of Yamaha bikes whereas Motul is mostly universal. Motul also recently claims to have improved their entire range of oils, but since you have difficulty sourcing Motul then yamalube is your only choice out of the two.
Hmm true, its not common for them to recommend a grade other than the factory specified that's why I put it up here. Does higher grade means more emission?

Yes, Higher grade burns more fuel and carbon emission is more. Honda did all this 10w30, 5w30 R&D to reduce carbon footprint from Asian countries.

I have seen ZDDP bottles in Reliance Autozone. But didnt bought them. The reason was quite simple, I dont require extra zddp. It is required when you are racing. Let me define racing here - A place where you increase the engine rpms to their extremes for a long duration. Riding/Driving fast is not racing.
Haven't read about zddp from quite long and have no intention to google it again, but there is a ppm level which racing teams put in their vehicles. Extra is not always better. We need sufficient. ZDDP levels were contolled by API from API SG. But, 15W40 grade oils which are used mostly in Diesel vehicles were spared. If you get a 15W40 oil, there is a high probability that the ZDDP level is sufficient as these are not controlled by API SG limits.
Secondly, oil manufacturers are putting other surrogates to counter the ZDDP deficit. Boron being one of them. When you buy an oil from a good company like Mobil, Shell, Motul etc. rest assured that the oil is more than what you need for daily use/abuse. There is no need to add anything in these oils, they already have more than sufficient quantities of what we know and what we dont.

Hmm but lower grade also means less smoothness and shorter engine life due to extra wear. Well we can't get the best of both worlds, have to sacrifice something.

Just saw the scheme at nearby shell outlet.
Its a ducati bag. Red coloured. Looks cheap. It won't attract customers. They should have offered something useful.
