Why do you want to change the oil at only 160km in the first place..
just go to the svc, ask them to change the oil and filter.. Pay the service charge and done.. Then opt for the free service whenever you want..
castrol sucks unless you are 110% sure its genuine.. Also it will void the warranty..

The one you are talking about might not be Motul 3000T. Kindly recheck again. Why in hurry to change the oil so early??

Already visited SVC yesterday and they refused to do anything before first service.

I am not running my bike as bajaj recommends ( 40 km/h always, don't do this and that) moreover i will go on a ride of 250 km on 15th of this month. Don't want to go before oil change.

You are in run-in period. Follow the procedure to help you in long run. The first oil change is usually around 500kms.

The first service should be due in 30days from purchase date. As you are new to this bike I will suggest you to get yourself more familiar with your bike. Roam around clock some more kms and have proper judgment on brakes and gears.
Then you can get your bike serviced around 12 or 13th. In first service, they will wash, change oil and oil filter and clean air filter( optional for ASC). Its a 30 mins job. Insist them to get it done in your presence so that they don't mess with other things.
Apart from this no oil change required now.

Run in period is very crucial for the bike, follow the SVC procedure or it will cost you in the long run. a long trip isn't possible during run in, well it is but what's the fun if you have to stay under 60kmph on a highway.

Almost unanimously everyone will zero in on the Motul, of course it's an excellent stuff. But cost wise you can consider 3100T after the first run in period. If you intend to change at the present KM, then you can use 3000T after which you can change them to 3100.

Oil filter and engine oil was black in color and full of metal impurities. There were small metal chips stuck in the filter and the dark grey thing on mechanic's hand is metallic dust.

I used bajaj DTSI oil as i am unable to find moutul.
Verdict- I guess it is better to change engine oil and oil filter after 100 km.

That is COMPLETELY normal for a new bike, every new bike will have metal shavings/filings at first or even till second oil change, oil turning black also is not a problem, if oil level is reduced then thats a problem. As I said earlier follow break in procedure as the SVC recommends, don't be eager to rip your bike so soon or the engine will wear out improperly.

No, no not every 100 km. I mean it should be done for a new bike after 100 km for the first time. I posted what i did i never said you should do the same. Its your bike and its your choice no need to make fun of me just because i have done something which is abnormal in your book. But it can be a experience for others who want to do this. Engine break in is a controversial topic and many people suggest an oil change after 100 km.

Are you sure the odometer is running properly? Well.. i am not sure about oil getting dark in 500kms.. but am sure about the metal scraps from engine to be found and thats why recommended first service is at 500 kms.. keep an eye on the oil level and color every 100 kms just to be sure its running fine..

Hey Newrider, buddy, slow down. First of all, your vehicle manufacturer surely didn't recommend 100 kms for first oil change. Regardless of whatever you're riding. Now, if you cant take at face value the word of the manufacturer who's product you have chosen to invest in and buy, there's no point in choosing the brand you have chosen. Because you apparently dont believe in their word hence the product also. You're contradicting yourself. Ya? Believe me, if they built the machine in the first place, they obviously know more about it than you and me. Right? The filters and all other thingies are all in place for a reason. Ok buddy? Just chill. Follow the service manual (in case you didn't give it a look see yet) at least for the run in period and then you can do whatever you like. Here's wishing your motor and you the best.

                                P. S. The black oil is nothing to be scared of at this point of time(100km). Ditto for the black stuff at the filter. Believe me, there are other places in the engine that get much more blacker than that under normal conditions. And God forbid if you get to see them by any chance please dont panic. Its a combustion engine. Hope this helps
