Oil level is bound to drop since it lubricates the cylinder walls. So, some amount of oil does burn off. Incase the oil burns quickly than regular, it is an alarming situation. Same goes for coolant also.

Cheerz!!
Sir Pinaki & me, are enforcing the inspection of the dip stick rather than the brim, to come to know that the sump is filled fully or not.. I am talking of the specs for the quantity of engine oil required.

I guess, here we are not talking of oil burning off during the long run and/or the normal consumption, but here the level is decreasing at alarming rate. Coolant level should not drop as the vapours stays inside the tank itself and the water jacket is a closed system.

You can do the top up, but only in extreme cases and then get the motor checked as soon as possible because eating up/burning up the engine oil is not a feature of 4 Strokes. So as a general rule, The oil level should not drop .

The above post of yours mention that, "eating/burning up the engine oil is not a feature of 4 stroke". I replied to this context that, engine oil does burn off. Also, the universal method for checking the oil level is by using a dipstick.

The fellow xbhpian has already topped up with mineral oil, so as to see if the oil level goes down again or not.

Cheerz!!

Yes thats true that its not a feature of 4 Strokes... but during extended usage of same oil, the oil starts to loose its viscosity and seeps in the combustion chamber through valves and/or the rings. So, that is a good sign that either your oil has given up its nature or if it was not happening previously then there is something wrong with the motor, but this should happen only during extended usage on the same oil. The fellow xbhpian was referring to a decrease in oil level after a very short period that too using Synthetic type of oil, which really should not happen. So, my comment was in that context.

Gulf doesn't have 20W50 in a synthetic variant, is it true?

Anuj_Gupta.. You can go with any of the specs. I have used Motul 3000 20W40 and it was mind blowing. Being mineral oil, it lost its sheen at 1600kms of use. I guess 3100 is new oil in market.

But people say to use semi synthetic before 5k kms, also my daily run is less than 5km, totally city, and a 30km ride in a month, so can I go with that green one, it's just 270 bucks

Anuj_Gupta: out of these two you should go for Motul 3100, since it is semi synthetic.

BUT

ideally you should use Motul 5100 for P200NS

Motul 5100 is just perfect for now. If unavailable then go for 3100.

So finally, went for the Motul shown in pics, costed 700 for 2 litres, they also vacuum cleaned all the engine chamber of any crap bajaj oil( is this engine overhaul..?) Anyways, put 1.35 litre and MY GOD ,WHERE ARE THE VIBES ...? What a performance. ..? Is this a. Honda bike..?
Also shopkeeper gave me a petrol addictive of some kind, costs 5 bucks a packet, I'm advised to use this for every 5 litres petrol
Hats off motul
Thanks to all xbhp bike freaks for helping me out.
Edit 5100 was I think above 500 bucks a litre, and didn't had that much cash
Right now it's like far greater than even that ns which I first brought on 12th July, will give full review later.
Thanks again all of you.

Please ask for Motul 5100 or Motul 7100. Both of them are the best VFM oils for P200NS. Motul 7100 20W50 is any day better. Lasts a good long period. You can't also go wrong with both the oils in picture are good, but remember to drain them at 3000 kms and your bike wont complain. 15W50 will be a bit thinner than the 20W50 counterpart. This in turn will give you edge in the initial acceleration.

Sir I kindly ask you to clear me only 2 doubts.

1. Rimula is xW40 and pulsars run with xW50. I have read that 40 grade oils would make the engine more hot. Is it true? Can I go ahead?

2. From what kms can I use hdeo

P.S I openly accept that I am afraid to test with oil because I am dumb in spotting small difference in performance
