Measuring jars are almost unanimously available in most stores, who sell plastic stuff, or you can ask them specifically scaled jars such in ML and so forth. Again bargaining wouldn't do much good for the printed MRP, but then some people just give discounts, and others don't. Either way you don't lose much.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
      The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

The Rimula R3X and R4 are superior to Mobil Delvac series at a lesser price. The Price printed on the can is the Max price MRP. you can always get at a lesser than indicated price...I had bought 3 Liters of the R3X at much lesser price for my Petrol Lancer ...The experience is only just 50+ Kms ,and very good...but I will share the Exp., after the car completes at least 1 K Kms... I got R3X at 245/- per liter
I see you are from Tamilnadu , and if you are from Chennai, here is the address of Shell Retailer who can give you good discount...

There is no need for a measure while doing oil changes . Infact to avoid errors you should not use any such measure . Fill oil to correct level by level shown by dipstick . Soak the new filter in fresh engine oil for sometime before you fit it .

May I know the reason for this assumption. As both oils have very similar specs.

From my experience 20 rupees less from a 270 is real good

                  psr sir,
my friends including me tested mobil delvac 1300 in Fazer, Unicorn, ct-100, 200NS and were more than satisfied with this oil.
when we tried R3X in ct-100 the results were no where near to the satisfaction attained with delvac 1300.
Why did this happen? Is R3X thicker than Delvac 1300?
Also after going through some forums I suggested my friend to use R3X in his Indica, his engine sounded harsh and he didn't love it at all. why are we experiencing different results sir?

I picked up 3 liters and so he might have given me higher discount.....or may be because I am old..

The R3x Kinematic Viscosity is lesser than the Delvac which means that it flows better at lower and higher temp as well. The minimum ZDDP is 1 and max is 2.4 %... This means the oil is comparatively thinner and does not damp on moving parts. This obviously means that an engine with close tolerance, and less wear can enjoy the benefit of these type of oils, and an engine with wider tolerance/ wear needs a higher Kinematic Viscosity oil....
Even in my Lancer which is 38 K Kms old, the Tappet noise could be heard more clearly now, but the acceleration and smoothness is much better than previous oil, which was Motul .
As for Tata vehicles Shell now supplies TATA specific Diesel oil with name such a Rimula T 3 , where T stands for TATA vehicle...I did not find the MSDS hence unable to know the contents.

Sir after how many kilometers will I notice the difference? I will be riding 900kms in two days. Hope the oil performs well!

I did ask about you and he told me you had purchased the same the previous day and spoke a lot about the oil's credentials. And he also asked me," How come he knows so much?". I told him" "Avaru ellam automobile puli"

:: Forums › you can see how many riders from this section of the community are using HDEOs. I think R3X is easily available in that country! Or may be its cheaper there too.

It all boils down to quality of the base oil now. No one can tell how good/bad base oil does the manufacturer use by looking at the specs. Otherwise spec wise even crapstrol would be very similar to these oils.

It is called Flashing the engine, and a popular thing in car engines, recently high performance bikes are also being subjected to flashing, but don't use it in low quality or small capacity or old engines, flashing is basically sucking out all the remaining dirty engine oil ( that didn't came out itself) by application of vacuum.
