        Hello Xbhpians,
        I have a 2012 Honda Dio (face-lift model).
I have changed its engine oil & gear box oil at 2000kms at a Honda Service Center.
Now the scooter is about to hit 4000kms mark.
I want my scooter's engine to be as smooth as butter.
Which engine oil can I use other than stock Honda ones?.
        Like Shell AX7 or AX5?
        Fully synthetic or semi synthetic?
        Regards.

FS or SS or Mineral all comes down to individual choice. SS has a slight advantage of providing you an extended drain interval, and FS even more than the SS. Fully synthetic is a good choice. If you are low on budget, you can consider AX7 or AX7 Ultra

Yes it can be used. Most gearboxes these days are of multigrade. If you consider spending 350 odd bucks on a gear oil for a SS, you can use the default mineral gear oil. If you want both to be SS and/or FS it's ultimately one's own choice.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
            The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

            THE END

                  hey friends.
I bought motul 5100 15w50 for my pulsar 180. This is the first time i'm going to try an engine oil other than what the service centre people were using. Anyway, when i looked at the bottle, it said packed and imported in november 2012, which means i got an old stock. Should i return the oil?? Or date has got no significance when it comes to oil? I'm confused .

Didn't feel even a single difference between the motul 5100. Did about 3k kms in motul. Will update hownit is after 2k kms. But the same feel in both oil -_-:banghead:

Its perfect. Start using the oil within two years of manufacturing date.

                          You may use it.
Even my brother had similar query, we asked our experienced mechanic about this. He said it was totally OK to use it.

Absolutely not at all a problem. As far as the stock is fresh, isn't dusted all the way, or you see any puffed or unduly look on the can, the oil is absolutely usable. The good thing is, the oil degrades comparatively when inside engine than in a plastic container. So one year shouldn't make a difference.

                            Cheers!
