Il advice u to stay away from shell fs because I dont know why it has a habit of eating away gaskets and resulting in oil leaks.
Stick to motul imo amd go for a thicker oil it will stay more viscous in these temperature s....
Fs oils in 40'c temp..... im sure u will see drop in oil level
When its this hot mineral is the way to go....
Bt if you are already using fs oils u cant go back to minerals can you?

Go for AX7. Motul 3000 is mineral oil and Shell AX7 is Semi-Synthetic oil. Have used both oils and found Shell AX7 to be much better.

        I haven't seen Motul 5100 in 10W40 grade.

        Cheerz!!

AX7 does fair better but its a highly refined mineral oil in reality.

Are you sure you were using the recommended grade? Your riding pattern maybe culprit too.

Are you sure you are removing the old oil completely? Even an extra 50-100ml oil can cause extra pressure and blow the gasket.

                    Synthetic vs Semi-Synthetic

                    Cost

                    Will you see the benefits?
                    Is your engine tuned?
                    Clutch Slip
However, as long as you buy the correct grade of motorcycle oil for your bike that conforms to all the correct JASO specifications then you should never experience clutch slip with a fully synthetic.

The first half of ur bikes list require xxw50 oil that's why the 10W40 shell was leaking coz its a thinner oil. The cbz extreme, dazzler and also my unicorn has oil leak from head beading, so its better to replace it like every 7000 km so you can be tension free, it just costs 50 bucks.

Yes 10w40 oil was perfect for every bike. The same grade oil from motul or mobil didnt leak I guess,

Yes every oil change I and my friends do is accompanied by opening the clutch cover and cleaning the cetrifugal filter and in the apache the oil filter is replace. The bike is made to sit for 2 to 3 hours and is rocked and leaned on both sides to get the remainig oil out, the oil drained is measured and is usually 20 to 40 ml less than a complete liter.

As far as I have seen 10w40 from other brands has not leaked oil.
Maybe there is an error on my part too. But if you chexk out the rtr ownership thread you will find numerous accounts of leaking gaskets with ax7.

Fortunately I have found my gem motul 3100 gold... I replace it every 2k kms and its a charm till then.. 350 rs fr a ltr is also not a hit to my pocket and I found it better than castrol power one. Plus the 20w50 grade I use for my p150 classic is a little heavy and thats perfect for an old engine that might bot have perfect compression anymore (read 75k kms old piston rings...)
But its not consuming oil and no white smoke at any rpm whatsoever

I have a question. My friend has a p180 classic and it has done over 1 lakh kms on the stock bore and piston and is still going strong at about 1 lakh 7 thousand kms. He uses 5w50 grade oil from motul and it is a car oil. Isnt the grade totally wrong? He complaints of clutch slippage sometimes but that is because of the infamous classic pulsar gearbox I think. He never goes above 60 and is a very docile rider.
what are the pros and cons of this grade?

5w50 car oil would be costly in comparison to bike oils. You can get the best 4t oil in that price. Why does he use that oil? The only problem I can think of is clutch slippage leading to loss of power and FE.
There would also be loss of control as minute engine braking helps to manoeuvre the bike.

I dot know its some magnatech or something I have no idea. He says its very high quality and his engine life is proof.
My fav oil was petronas but I can't find it anywhere.

I have even seen people in my village add lal ghoda and what not brand of oils to hero hondas and still the engine has lasted for over a lakh kms before needing a rebuild:P:P:P:P
I think that quality is just lost, In todays engines and they need good oil to keep them in good shape

Replace what at 50 bucks? Are you talking about head beading? If yes, then is it that easy to replace so often(every 7K kms)?
