For example, if your manual states you to use, a 10w40, consider using a 10w50 for more "thickness and properties" using the same grade oil with different brand won't do much good. And don't worry, oils become black after 300 to 400 and it's perfectly normal, which means the oil is doing its job fine.

    Cheers!

    The mentioned grade is 20w-40
    i have used 20w-40,10w-40 and 10w-30
infact tvs themselves started using 10w-30 instead of 20w-40 when tvs tru4 10w-30 was launched!

      Recommended oil is 20w50.

After that i just idled my bike for 1 minute and rode it today for 5 kms.
Will anything bad happen as i used wrong oil.
You see 15w30 & 20w50 while staying in Delhi and being in that Hot weather might affect the Engine.

Engine might get hot or Over-Heat too. Completely depends on Weather, Riding interval, Engine.
Change back to 15W50 or Motul 7100 as listed on the chart as soon as possible.

Why take the unnecessary risk with Engine ? It might cost you a bang if something went wrong.

And buy Motul from a Big / good known shop only. Do not fall for Fake or people selling something else but stating it to be good than Motul.

Nope, but it(old oil) deserve recycling. 2 years old is the most I can go only when there are no other options.

Normally I use Motul 5100 with a drain frequency of 2500-2600kms. Last change I could not get Motul 5100 from my regular vendor as they were out of stock and I was close to 2600 kms. They offered me Motul 3100 20W50 and told me this is the new oil that comes in the FZS. Since they were the authorised agents for Motul merchandise. I brought it

The oil is really good in terms of performance. The engine feels rev friendly and in top speed it was butter smooth no much vibes than usual. I found the gear change to be little hard towards the end of 2000 kms. Normally I will check the level of the oil every week. The level was ok and I don't top up new old to the old oil as long as the oil level is within limits. So at 2000 kms I decided to change to Motul 5100 as it was available. When I drained the Oil I found it to be less so I poured the old oil into Motul 5100 can as it has the measurement reading available in the side. To my surprise it was only about 450ml But normally with 5100 it will about 800-750ml. Is it normal experts please advise.

              Cheers

Are veedol oils really good? I'm overdue for an oil change and would like to try this if it's good.

I have just serviced my RTR160 and changed the regular oil from shell AX7 to veedol superswift, till now the performance is good, gear shifts have become smoother and throttle response is awsome..Cant say about the drain period as its the first time im using veedol and bike have covered only 500 kms.
But from my experience i can say its better than shell advance AX7,atleast for an RTR cant comment for other bikes.
                        I will be keep updating...

No Probs. Yeah Old Fz comes with mineral but I don't know about the new FZ. but the dealer I brought from is the authorised dealer for Motul in my area. He told this is the oil that comes in FZ now-a-days.

That is also my doubt as it is mentioned as technosynthese. Is it mineral or SS.

3100 is mineral, but this one is 3100 GOLD which is SS and also its written technosynthese.

Between Mineral (refined/filtered Dyno Oils) & Fully-Synths (Esters/PAOs/etc), Semi-Synths can be of different kind.

I'm reposting an image from this thread for reference here:

** Non Ester based 3100 Gold Series
                                M065MOT*** JASO certificate : Manufactured/Licensed in Singapore(perhaps cheaper).

Few months back they were considering to manufacture/produce 5100 series in India.
