He had no answer and it seems soon you may see these guys recommending 20w40 grade for your hero bikes. And no wonder they will start putting it in all bikes be it an old engine from Honda or newer ones that hero is developing... I guess so.... But if it's the case then why they used to create such fuss about 10w30?

May be heat wave across northern India must have taken toll on 10w30 grade,so they have switched back to same old 20w40 ..These bike manufacturers always try to serve one important demand of indian customer "MILEAGE" (KITNA DETHI HAI),They don't care about longevity of engine..These 10w30 grade gives you extra mileage but not protection for engine when used in indian climatic condition. .these manufacturers want to show that their engine's are more efficient and dosent burn more fossil fuel

Am using Bajaj Avenger 220 dtsi 3yrs old have run 28000kms. I want to change to a reasonable decent engine oil . i do push the bike to extremes like 130km/hr sometimes and usual speed is 70-80km/hr. I do change oil at 2500-3000kms. Am residing at Kerala. Instead of colour, you should be looking for tamper-proof cap.
Get Shell oil from shell-fuel-pumps and Motul oils from authorized/listed dealer/retailer for peace of mind.

Both AX7 & Motul 5100 are golden yellow in colour. Motul 7100 is a bit reddish while Motul 300v is green. Hope it helps you.

I reckon motul 7100 comes in red colour, 5100 in golden yellow and 300v in green.

Any clue about what oil is used in P220 by the company (bajaj)?
And which one would be a better substitute if not for what is used by the company ?

Bajaj dts-i oil is made by Hindustan petrolium. Motul 7100 20w50 is the common substitute in P220

I own a Honda CBR250R which is 3 years old and has done 20,000 kms. I've been using Honda Throttle engine oil (10W30) since day 1 which is replaced every 6 months. Now, my bike's service is due next month and I'm thinking of switching to Motul 7100 10W40. Should I switch and if I do switch is engine flush required?
