Now, my bike's service is due next month and I'm thinking of switching to Motul 7100 10W40. Should I switch and if I do switch is engine flush required?
you can switch to 7100 or 5100 10w30..don't ever go for engine flush..just doing regular oil change will keep engine clean.

I did the same. Replaced honda oil with motul 7100. Didnt do engine flush. It was fine. But if you do, its good. Saw a 3m engine flush liquid in some shop. Try it if you can get it.

Motul 5100 is semi synthetic which in my opinion will be downgrade from the fully synthetic engine oil. Will go with Motul 7100. BTW, what is the drain interval of 7100? According to the service center guys, where I've routinely serviced my bike, the drain interval of Honda's Throttle is 6000 km or 6 months.

On a side note, I live in Himachal where temperature rarely goes above 35 deg C. But I'll be relocating to Chandigarh in 2 months. Will Motul 7100 be fine for 40-45 deg summer heat of Chandigarh?
backlash4u which bike do you have and how did it respond to Motul 7100?

I have rtr 180 currently using 7100 20w50..I'll drain oil every 5000km..it's been a good experience with it...For 45c 10w40 Wil work fine.5100 is also good oil ,it won't vaporize like 7100 in long drives ..

Please enlighten me about the vaporizing factor of 7100 when it comes to long drives.

Some users have reported oil loss (even on a perfectly tuned engine that usually doesn't consume oil) on long rides at high RPMs. Keep checking oil levels with the dipstick. You'd get to know.

Cbr 250. And my other bike is a duke 390. So anything will be smooth compared to that. But i have to say i am satisfied with 7100 on my cbr. Although i use 300v on my duke.

I had a 800 km journey last week. 800 km in 10 hours. Didnt have any vapourising or anything. I took 3 half hour breaks. Most of the times speed was above 120.

Thanks for the update. I'll go with 7100 because 300v is hard to find here in Himachal. But there's a KTM showroom in my city. I think that they'll have 300v and 7100 in their service center.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll be driving at 70-80 kmph max because speed above that is not possible here in my state.

Is anyone using 300v 15w50 for their pulsar 220? Does it give better acceleration than 7100 or 5100?
If I mix 1 litre 300v and 200ml 5100 15w50, will it cause anything bad to engine? I've some spare 5100 15w50 and planning to change oil to 300v upon reaching 10k kms.

Is it safe to use semi-syntactic oil or fully syntactic oil replacing bajaj oil for my discover 150 f? What are the positives & negatives of semi & fully syntactic oils. Mine is nearing 11k kms.
Please do tell me the engine oil type & brand too.

I would recommend u to stick with oils of d grade mentioned by the company, engine oil of grade 20w50 is not for 150cc bikes. So try lower grade like 10w30 or 20w40.Motul and Castrol vl do fine [emoji1] .
