Re: Engine Oils
2k at max with any mineral oil. Motul for some reason doesn't go well with Hero bikes. Also, it has a tendency to evaporate (in mild quantity) if ridden hard.Originally posted by PedalTramp View PostWhat about Havoline or Motul 10w30? Re: Engine Oils
The grade should match. Rest is the quality of the Oil and the stock oil is also good however you can also try this oilOriginally posted by PedalTramp View PostHero Glamour recommends 10W30 oil for its engine. Should I use the Hero 4T Plus 10w30 that is sold on the HeroCorp showroom? Or anything else?

Re: Engine Oils
What grade 300V are you using? I think R15 uses 10W40. The 300v you put could be 15W50. make sure you use the correct grade.Originally posted by drdanishkhannew.540 View PostHave been using motul300 in my R15v1 since the past 4 months.. there has been better acceleration and reduced vibrations but the engine feels kinda stressed when revved hard ie its not smooth like mineral.. had been using the mineral yamaha lube since 2008.. Should I keep using synthetic or downgrade to semisynthetic from motul like 7100?? Any other suggestions...
Also motul 7100 is also fully synthetic just like 300v. 3100 gold and 5100 are the semi-synthetics from motul.

Re: Engine Oils
It doesnt matter what grade you use unless its less than the prescribed range.. i checked with my svc guy and he told me 15w50 is absolutely okay.. the acceleration has improved but that stress on the engine is whats bothering me.. its not smooth like it used to be.. i am planning on downgrading and using motul 7100 next time.. i just wanted to know if anybody else has had the same feeling..

Motul 7100 series is fully synthetic.Originally posted by drdanishkhannew.540 View PostIt doesnt matter what grade you use unless its less than the prescribed range.. i checked with my svc guy and he told me 15w50 is absolutely okay.. the acceleration has improved but that stress on the engine is whats bothering me.. its not smooth like it used to be.. i am planning on downgrading and using motul 7100 next time.. i just wanted to know if anybody else has had the same feeling..

300v will give you high revving and accelerating engine but at the cost of high engine temperature and vibration maybe especially on lower cc engines. It's actually great oil but for more cc, racing bikes...
If you still want to use or take advantage of this oil I'd say to mix it with the correct grade for your bike. There are no problems with mixing different grades or semi /full synthetic of oil until you go lower than the recommended grade.
For our hot climate 300v is an overkill and it's not downgrading to change to 7100, is also great. 7100 one might be the best for you if you choose the correct grade.
Refer below as well.

Re: Engine Oils
No it doesn't even last for full 3K kms. That is just a marketing gimmick from bajaj. Even superior oils don't last so much in Indian heat. How can bajaj oil last 10K and by the way it is also called as vegetable oilOriginally posted by md_minhaj View PostDoes Bajaj 20w40 oil really has a drain interval period till 10k as claimed?
Thanks!
