    Hello,
    I Got castrol 10w30.
The scooter feels so good and smooth! less vibrations too!

Sadly the old oil was pitch black, i got it serviced 1 1/2 month back or so, looks like the service center guys did not do their job properly.

I am gonna do all repairs myself now/ mechanic.

There's nothing wrong with oil turning black early.....oils are destined turn black after use..just change the oil every 2000km without any second thought...do regular air filter and spark plug change....

That was easy to understand and a firm reason to change to synthetic oil rather than reading some articles...

I'm going to buy this Castrol CRB Plus ( 20W40 ) ( CF-4 ) ( 5-Litre ) Pack oil for use as gearbox oil for my suzuki max100r...as I see there are no oils targeted specifically for use in 2-stroke bikes as gearoils. ( yamalube gearoil is an exception though ). after enquiring many mechanics and oil dealers, i've made this decision. the seller agreed to sell this to me for rs. 1450/-.

                      Hello all

I have this doubt regarding Engine oil top-up.
I know that we should add extra oil whenever we see the oil level is not midway between the upper and lower ' - ' marks.
But when should we ideally check the oil level ?
What i mean is if we check the level when the engine is standing cold then the oil level display hardly shows some oil (only when i tilt the bike - i can see its there)
But after i comeback from a ride i will see that the oil is upto the optimum level and got some frothing at surface.
So should i add the oil in this case ?
I don't know if there are any major drawbacks if we pour engine oil in excess of what is recommended...?!

                      A little insight ?

                      Thanks.
                      cheers.

                        haha what's this !?
inspection window incorrectly placed ? ( i.e too upstream of a position :sly: )
                        so defect ?
P.S: hope you have noted down your problem carefully.

It clearly says on the can that its for tractors and heavy use applications, why would you still buy it?

Did first service at 590km using bajaj dtsi oil I wanted to switch to motul 5100 but these chaps at the service centre insist on using this bajaj oil . I can feel the oil wearing out and it's just about 2300km since last service.
Did you get the oil change done? If yes, what did you go for. I've done 6,700 on my AS200 and still running Bajaj oil. Gonna change it to either 5100 or 300V.

I'm at 8500 km .. last month IV bearly used the bike due to the monsoons. I'm still on bajaj oil. But I change it every 2000-2500 km. I bought motul 5100 from Amazon on a sale. But haven't used it yet. I will mostly use it at 12500 or so km.

The scooter oils sold in India are for bikes having dry clutch & should not be used in motorcycles that use a wet clutch and circulate same oil as engine in the clutch . The scooter oils usually have friction-modifier additives ( like most car oils ) that shall harm clutch system of wet clutch common oil motorcycles . Naturally these dry-clutch scooters can safely use petrol car oils too , which the motorcycles can't .

CRB worked just fine on my Max-100R gearbox for years , no problems . For RX100 & later RX135 I remember using general 20w40 motorcycle oils like Servo , so that would be fine too .

The oil is used in the gearbox/clutch of 2-stroke bikes . It doesn't circulate the entire engine like in 4-strokes . Very few ( if any ) specific 2-stroke gearbox oil available anymore now .
