also, isnt it possible that the full synths, since thinner, seep out more and cannot lube the interns good in high temps? if so, then the high end and mileage 'would' reduce. right? wrt air cooled indian bikes ie.

The Fully Synths are thinner than the minerals at normal temp but they maintain their viscosity at higher temps where mineral oil becomes almost water-ish.

Their ability to lubricate well at higher temps and not being very thick at lower temps gives the engine an ability to revv easier and more freely than when used with a mineral oil!

300V earlier was a single ester based oil, it was called "Competition" then and not "Factory Line" like it is now.

yeah, the one which i purchased is double ester and factory line so my bike is gonna leak too? should i get rid of the oil?

y-> some unit of higher temperature

IMO:: In our country which is always hot the 'x' factor does not matter.

No even my extreme went to the tip, off went the oil out of the drain
no double ester thereafter for my extreme.

santhoshxtra now invincible has been using motul in his apache from the beginning.I guess he is not experiencing any trouble.I think its better to see the manual,where they have a chart for what lube suits ur bike for the prevailing ambient temp.Btw why dont u try petronas 50004t sprinta

Tried out with my Fiero F2 on a 60km.continuous highway run which I generally do every week (you know where KP)...surprisingly the engine is as cool as it would be after running for say 5km.in city! Petronas Zindabad!

some doubts:
1. what type is castrol P1?
2. in low temps, as in 0 degree weather, how much should VI be? i mean, the X in XwY.

it is a fully syn oil(10w40)
the vi in lower temp for every bike is specified by the manufacturer...
for example uni has a rating of 20w40,where as the h.h's have 10w30..
depends on the manufacturer...

Basic Doubt !!

I have one basic doubt(s).

1. Why is (Semi-)Synthetic oil not recommended for new engines??

2. Which oils would you recommend for 150cc 6K old bike.

Some I have tried to go through the 50 pages of the thread, but I still couldn't find a definite answer
