Ah... so that was the differentiator... I never really dug in to the Bullets after the first attempt on a 350 STD made me take bed rest for a week daysOriginally posted by jayprashanth View PostHydbiker,
RE recommends 20W50 for the Cast Iron bulls. The AVLs run the 20W40 and the UCE runs 15W50.

Engine Oil consumotion - 2 fast
Hey,
I've noticed that oil level in my P150 reduces very fast. Though the recommended running should be 2000-2500 kms, I feel the indicator goes below the marked level after 1200-1300 kms. I use Castrol P1.
This 1200 consists of 1000kms of long ride. So is this basically of long ride that the oil has gone low or some other reason??
Also, its the first time I've used P1 after my bike has done 10000 kms. Till now, it was the normal oil filled at service centre.
Any suggestion on that one ???sigpic

Hey its doing fine. No smoke at all, even bike is running gr8. It now easily goes till 110 kmph that too me being heavy.
No smoke at any speed or any range of rpm.
Well, just wanted to clarify:- When I goy my bike serviced last time the flushed oil was very less. The machanic at SC asked me if there is any leakage? That time my bike did 3000 kms w'out servicing & guess that's why the oil was less when flushed. So any relation possible to that !!!sigpic

if the level went down by 100-150 ML that should be fine because you rode 3K KMs with 1000 KMs of highway (expect a steady high speed run)... well, I'm not very clear about this from your two posts.Originally posted by Abhishek2433 View PostHey its doing fine. Anyway, I guess you should check the oil levels once more - IE... get the oil changed, run for the designated 2K KMs and see how the oil level is...
BTW, where did you buy the Power1? are you sure it is original and is not counterfeit? Castrols suffer with the duplicates problem.Last edited by HydBiker; 04-07-2009, 01:58 PM.

I wouldn't say synth will be a waste! It may make the gearbox smoother... and may also extend its life. But if your use is low/not so severe... you may be wasting money. Also, absolutely do not use a car oil here! Use a bike oil only. You can try Shell (the 4 st bike specific oil)... they are specifically saying it can be used for the purpose. BPCL also has a multigrade specifically for this purpose.Originally posted by psycho 98 View PostAny basic mineral oil will do the job, synthetic and semisynthetic is just waste of money for an rx the oil is feeded only to the gear box and clutch plates. any 20w40/50 will do the job, remember only 650ml is the capacity.
Rx needs 20W40 as far as I remember. Don't use 20W50.
Personally, I'v been using Castrol CRB in my Shogun.
