How often are they changing the oil? Since it's Mineral, I'm assuming it wouldn't be more than 3k Kms.

He mentioned interval of 6k. Am surprised that the mineral oil lasts that long.

The sai service guys dont follow any strict maintenance schedule for the company scooters. They are abused by almost everyone. We are not permitted to buy external oil and only allowed to use the 5w30 maruti genuine oil. These run daily for almost 40 kms and only get serviced once in 6-7 months or so. For the gear oil they use 75w90 MGO.

Car engine can be used in scooters as it comes with dry clutch..I have used shell helix hx7 10w40 a couple of times in my 2007 Honda dio....performance was way smoother when compared with motorcycle oil...

Nope,I always use shell spirax sae 90 for hear box...

Shall I go for 20W50 MOTUL , my manual recommendation is stating 10w30?

Is there any mileage changes noticeable?

For what bike? A Honda? Ideally the number before the W shouldn't be changed. Use of thicker oil in the long run ain't good for the engine. Changes the tolerances of the moving parts.

20W50 is too thick for Tvs & Honda engines. You can safely use 10W40, 15W40 & 20W40.

I own FZ25 ABS. The suggested oil grade in manual is 10W40 JASO MA Certified. It does not say Synthetic/Semi-synthetic/Mineral. The problem I am facing is with Yamalube Synthetic 10W40 oil which service center put in. The Yamalube loses its consistency/quality within 800 - 1000 kms. I changed the oil a month back in first service and it already is not up to the mark within 900 kms. The same issue I faced for the original oil which was there when I bought the bike 2 months back.

Now I want to change oil on my own and I do not want to go back to Yamalube. The option I am considering are Shell AX7 (Synthetic blend) as its available in 10W40 and fits in budget as well. However, I am not sure about putting AX7 in FZ25. I checked Motul as well, there is no semi-synth in 10W40. The synthetic oils in 10W40 (all brands) are very expensive or at least I feel them as expensive. Can someone give me expert advice for AX7. Or should I opt for FS oil.

Note-I have been using Shell AX7 for my ZMR and Super Splendor and there absolutely no issues. Both bikes are very smooth. I use Shell HX7 (semi-synth) for Santro and there are absolutely no issues. In other words I trust Shell semi-synth for all my cars.

Yamalube 10w40 sporty premium which they use on fz25/r15/r3 is fully synthetic. i would suggest you should stick to it but change it [MENTION=52394]200[/MENTION]0-2500km instead using fancy oils for 4000-5000km.

Fully synthetic for only 2500 Kms?

I'm using TVS Fully synthetic oil in Apache for more than 5000 Kms and still it's fine !!

Yamaha also recommends 5000kms change interval for that oil on fz25, but some people feel it doesn't last that long. thus i suggested to change it at 2000-2500km instead of going for costly oils @ 5000km interval. although in my experience it does last till 4400-4700km after that it feels rough.

Hello everyone I came across one problem ii n my bike the engine oil is decreasing by 80 to 100 ml every 1000 kms is it okay or is thier any problem in my bike no smoke from exhaust once I got 680 ml after drain in 2000kms help me
