    Castrol has!

It is Castrol Activ Xtra 4T 20W50. A mineral based one.

But i am completely satisfied with my current oil(castrol power1 racing)which is a 10W 40 oil.It maybe cause its fully synthetic. The max u can use is XW 40 oil.

Guys i am changing my oil to motul 300v 5W40 double ester fully synthetic oil.Should i change the oil filter when changing the oil.My bike has done around 10800kms.The service center guys never cleaned the filter i am pretty sure about it.
The local mechanic says to clean/change the filter one has to remove the clutch assembly or something. Is it true.Or can i just change to motul directly is it safe to skip the filter change procedure.Thanks.
Remember you have to clean (not change!) 2 filters - the mesh and the centrifugal filter! You have to clean them with petrol. The right side crankcase will have to be removed. You will also need to replace the gasket.

ALL the engine oil will have to be drained. So its a good time to change the brand of oil since all the oil in the engine will be new (except of course a v small quantity that still sticks to the metal).
And remember to carry more than the usual 900 ml with you.

It is a critical thing... so get it done in front of u! And it would be nice if you could check how much particulate matter/metal/etc was there in both the filters... and maybe post some pics.

Take as much care as possible to see that no dirt/dust/etc gets anywhere inside the engine while the job is being done. This will do maximum harm to your engine.

        • CSSK,INSANEBIKER,racoon thanks for the advice.I will get it done in front of me .The castrol bike zone i had gone to was very well maintained -CLEAN.Since this is a critical procedure as explained by racoon i will get it done in CBZ.The only problem is they dont change any oil other than CASTROL.
The only way i can think off to make the bikezone guys change the motul oil is BY DECEPTION.I have 2 CP1R cans 1 is empty i will pour the motul into the Empty CP1R CAN (can i clean the can with say petrol) and give it to them.Hope everything goes well.

Just switch over to Motul. No need to change/clean any thing. You were running on Power1Racing and have hardly used it long enough. Also, the oil filters in the engine collect very very fine particles - most of that can hardly be seen with a naked eye - and those block the pores in the filter. What's the recommended change interval for this? You need not change the filter for changing oil.

Just get it changed like a normal oil change - anywhere clean.

Thats like blackmail! Anyway your idea is very good. No need to clean the can with petrol (assuming its totally clean and only has min. reside of P1R) as anyway a very small amount of oil will be mixed in the engine anyway... no way to avoid unless you want to rinse the whole engine in petrol... lol!

True, you dont need to clean the filters for the sake of a general oil change. But HH recommends 1st cleaning at 500 km and thereafter at ever 6,000 km. Since he has never done it, its best to get it done now... esp. since he is changing oil brands. I doubt if the screen catches "very, very fine particles", if its just a mesh (not even considering the centrifugal filter here). But I'm not sure about this myself, as I'm yet to actually see it myself. Thats why I said it would be nice if he could post some pics.

That is what I have clearly mentioned. No need to clean the filter for an oil change. If his bike falls in the interval for recommended cleaning or replacement he has to attend it.

BTW, the Mesh doesn't catch tiny particles... it catches bigger stuff and I have never seen anything stuck in meshes - mostly haven't seen very bad engines. In the filter... you can not really make out just about anything with naked eye unless there's something wrong with the crank case - foreign particles entering it or something inside flaking or powdering out!

                    • ^^^Have you seen the CBZ-Xs mesh? Is it very fine or can you see thru the small holes? If yes, I guess you can safely say it does not catch particles not visible to the naked eye.

Any idea about the centrifugal filter.... and if it catches very fine stuff?

Dunno why HH recommends cleaning at 500 km and at 6,000 km thereafter, in that case. Maybe its just ot be on the safer side in case users/mechanics contaminate the insides?

Didn't see that of the CBZ-X/Hunk but saw the meshes of many other HH's and other bikes... most of them are similar and they don't catch the particles in question. A centrifugal filter and the mesh are in for two different tasks.

Haven't yet seen a Honda engine's centrifugal filter... people hardly attend it. Many mechanics in HH service centers don't even know that one exists. Since I haven't seen one, even I am thinking that I should doubt if one exists until I see one
