I dint want to use diesel cos diesel doesnt evaporate as fast as petrol and it might leave some residues inside the engine.

^^^ any rubber elements and seals get hardened and then crack if you use petrol or even diesel to an extent - though I am not very sure of using the Diesel.
Why do you want to flush? Just change the engine oil and go ahead. if you suspect some sludge in the engine, use a good engine oil and drain it quickly - may be for two times... it would definitely make the sludge clear to an extent. or, just open up the engine and get it cleaned completely.
That's my view point. No claims for the best method

I got the 300V for 750RS 3 months back.Originally posted by prafultripathy View PostGuys any idea on the latest pricing of Motul 300V & 5100T?
Got this from the motul dealer, cherry agency (now shifted to TR Mills)
5100 is 400RS in think.
Can you tell me where all its available for 725, coz the dealer sold it for 750Originally posted by insanebiker View PostPraful, 300V 's MRP is now Rs 725 for both 15W50 and 5W40. The price for which u will get it finally depends on from where u get it.

He quoted 700 for 5W40 and 750 for 15W50.

Didnt u see the label on it before purchasing it?
It s available for 725 or less in JC road. Tirumala Accesories i guess.(Lalbagh Fort road).
If u want it much more cheaper u can go to chennai and get it from the Motul Warehouse
When everything comes ur way, u r in the wrong way ;)

with a W50 grade oil the RTR feels a little smoother and a little sluggish. If you are okay with that, go ahead.Originally posted by Puneet1 View Posthey guys i'm gonna change my Oil from a Mineral to a synth. on My Apache RTR .
I've shortlisted Motul 5100 15w50.are there diff ranges[like 15w40 ,10w] on Motul 5100 or theres only 1 ?.
any other Good Oil for an RTR ??[Upto 400rs] .
Else, try the Gulf Pride 4T Plus 20W40 Semi Synthetic for ~Rs 200. At below Rs 400 you can get Petronas Sprinta 4T 5000 10W40 Fully Synthetic in Delhi (refer to post # 145). With these two you are bound to be very happy - full paisa vasool stuff.

(Dec 2008 is the date of import).
I got it from the dealer himself so was thinking, how come you got it for so less
No no its not about getting for cheap, just wanted to know who is that person who is selling it for a price lesser than the dealer

Well my cans were imported in Oct 08
And MRP is 725.
So new MRP is 795 ?
Why does 300V s price alone go up while oil prices are coming down

Hi there...
I don't wanne open up a separate thread for my query... since it is indirectly related to engine oils. Hence i'm posting here...
I am currently using Petronas Sprinta-4000 in my Unicorn...
The performance and the smoothness of the bike is present... however my engine heats up tooo much (I can feel the heat of the engine on my feet while riding)
Is this normal?? Coz my friends Pulsar 150 which has a much more aggressive engine does not heat up that much...
If I switch from the Petronas Sprinta 4000 (10W40) to Motul's V5100 (15W50) - will that make a difference??
I have heard it is not advisile to put 15W50 grade in a Unicorn... Why is that so?? Is it harmful for the engine??
Is there a better oil or any other method to keep my engine cooler??

^^^ if you are willing to try, please switch over to the Honda engine oil that we know numerous Unicorns are running without a hitch and see if the problem persists...
even before that, I guess something wrong with your Uni? What mileage does it give? pls get the carb and air fuel ratio checked... check your air filter status... being a very silent engine we won't even know if something is wrong with the engine but pls get it checked...

New MRP is indeed 795
God knows what they are upto, i am absolutely sure that before P180, P200, P220 very less were using motul 300V, since the demand has gone up they have increased the price.
Its all to do with the mumbai dealer who is the sole importer of motul in india, he has increased the price i think
