    • Well ppl like me who had a fuss abt which is the best oil around for the R-15, The Yamaha ppl have come up with (or rather they reintroduced at there service centers ) the 3 kinda engine oils . Firstly is the 20/40 which had been aroud for quite a while around, which is the basic one costs 140INR ( here in nagpur, maharashtra). secondly is the SP grade oil costs somewhere between 200-300INR and the third is the semi-synthetic 15\50w SL grade which is for 425 INR which is best for R-15 as recommended by yamaha ppl they even claimed that they prefer the same oil for the mighty R1(well m sceptical about it for now!!) sorry for meager input for the moment its just that m having my final year exams and i just made it to my 4th servicing @7k kms , had to post some pics too but curse my exams for that ,its just that i wanted to help other guys if they are confused a bit like me a while before. SO GO FOR YAMAHA LUBE SL 15/50W SEMI-SYNTHETIC ask the yamaha guys they shal provide you the same. Over here in Nagpur they also provide ad oil addetive from BARDAL, shall update about it later,,,

Thats ok buddy, looking forward to get your inputs on the additive. Is it a petrol additive or engine oil additive?

Yes!! Veedol Super Swift is a very good engine oil. I have used it twice in my Zma. Felt better. Could not source the oil after that in Hyderabad.

I will try sprinta fully synthetic this time, but i seriosly doubt it can perform better than veedol super swift even being fully synthetic....

I have read at so many places about good effects of adding boric acid in petrol and also in engine oil.

My take: today's engine oils are very good - very slippery and take higher temperatures pretty well compared to what we had about five years back.

And, if improving the engine oil's effectiveness is so easy and cheap, they'd have done that long back.

My suggestion: don't try that. get a better engine oil and/or change engine oil more frequently than you now do.

PS: I am yet to open the links you have given.
