    • Errr... I really cant recall what "invention" you are talking about?

I have never recommended using GTX??

Are you talking about my mention about the use of diesel oils for a limited (or longer) period? If yes, then please tell me the specifications of this Castrol GTX you are using. I hope you are using GTX Diesel?

      Which bike?

bike is the apache rtr refresh nov;08

PS>... the one i used was semi syn........

        • It seems there is GTX and GTX Diesel. I hope you are using GTX Diesel only. It seems to be a 20W40 oil... are you sure its 10W40??

GTX seems to be ok to use in your bike. But really, you should consider using something like Cheveron's Delo 400. Castrol is nowhere in its league. Problem is I'v been told it comes in 10 lt buckets only. If you have a car you can use it in, then its a great deal. You can use it in petrol car also. It is priced well too.

As for using GTX Diesel in your bike, why do you want to do it if I may ask? How many km has your bike done? If you just want to clean up things, about 50 km or double that should be more than good enough (on a diesel oil). Give it a good burst. A word of caution - use of diesel oils in bikes is a bit controversial. But many people seem to be using it very successfully. In fact it is quite likely that it will outperform bike oils. But AFAIK there are no concrete data regarding this. If you are conservative, stick to bike oils.

Btw, its just Magnatec and not GTX Magnatec.

          Hope that helps.

            • Guys , came across this oil today.

It s a semi synthetic API SL JASO MA2 20W40 oil by Valvoline. It s heat characteristics satisfy API SM norms too

It s called Champ 4T and MRP is 235 INR only

              I filled this in today

              • I'm going to cange the gearbox oil in my RX today and use Petronas Sprinta 2000. I'm thinking about going for the Sprinta 5000 full synthetic.

                    • Raccoon, the regular diesel oil is GTX Diesel 15W40. Its nowhere like JASO MA or API SL that we'd want our bikes to have.

Neither Delo 400 for that matter!!

Better stick to the OEM oils yaar. Why bother so much? Why so serious?

So what? Diesel oil anyway is not known to have Moly. And IIRC Delo 400 is also API SL rated.

And why OEM oils, dude? I suppose you mean the HH/Honda branded oils? Gulf Pride feels way better for nearly the same price. Even Elf, I guess...

I know that's why I'm going to use it in the gearbox and not the engine of the RX :-).

                            • Its been sometime since Motul 10W30 started being available. Hasn't anybody used this oil yet? I'm yet to see any comments. Would be intresting to know how it compares with Gulf Pride, especially.

If someone can post readable pics of the bottle, it would be great.

                              • The Motul u are talking about was a mineral based one; while Gulf Pride is semi synthetic i guess.
