Our Mechanic garage uses that same oil regularly. Champ is not a semi synth oil unless they came up with a new formulation very recently. Their semi synth oil is called Premium. The Champ is good but the same mechanic who uses it says the engines are not running as cooler with this as with the Servo/Mak. He used to get a supply of Servo or Mak earlier but from the past over 6 months Valvoline Champ is a regular (getting them cheaper and the distributor delivers it to his shop). When that supply doesn't come in he's using Motul 3000 4T and says it is very good comparitively.Originally posted by insanebiker View PostGuys , came across this oil today.
It s a semi synthetic API SL JASO MA2 20W40 oil by Valvoline. It s heat characteristics satisfy API SM norms too
It s called Champ 4T and MRP is 235 INR only
I filled this in today
We await a Pulsar review though
Sprinta 5000 has both 4T and 2T versions. And, the 4T oil goes into the gearbox while the 2T goes inot the AutoLube or Petrol tank.Originally posted by atulaherwar View Postsprinta 5000 is a 4T oil........
I guess the Gulf would score better again. I used Gulf Pride 20W40, 10W30 and then Motul 3000 20W40... and the Gulf 20W40 was the best. I rate it better than the Gulf 10W30 because the gear shift was really great then. Then engine runs just as smooth with the 10W30. The Motul left something to be desired when I used the oils in the following order - GUlf 20W40, Morul 3000 20W40 and Gulf 10W30.Originally posted by Raccoon View PostIts been sometime since Motul 10W30 started being available. Hasn't anybody used this oil yet? I'm yet to see any comments. Would be intresting to know how it compares with Gulf Pride, especially.Last edited by HydBiker; 05-22-2009, 08:08 AM.

KP saaar! I think u r confused with Champ 4T and Champion 4T
Champ 4T is a semi synthetic 20W40 API SL(with thermal characteristics of API SM) while Valvoline Premium is a 20W50 API SM.
Look here for more details.

Yeah u r right. THey have mentioned the word "NOW" everywhere. Seems like they have made it a semi-synthetic/synthetic blend whatever quite recently.Originally posted by HydBiker View Post^^^ synthetic blend thing aside (didn't notice this), I was speaking about the Champ.

It can be used. I'm considering using Gulf Pride 20W40 in my Shogun. Hasn't anybody tried using Gulf in a 2 stroker??Originally posted by atulaherwar View Postwelll sounds goood bbut nt sure if it can be used......racoon .... shed some info man....
im nt sure bout this myself...
Hmm... ok. I guess I better stick to Gulf Pride then. Its kinda expected that the 20W40 will give smoother gears compared to 10W30. Something like 20W50 making things smoother where 20W40 is recommended. But then other things would suffer. Which bike have you tried all this in btw?Originally posted by HydBiker View PostI guess the Gulf would score better again.
