No, but you can email and bug them to import it.Originally posted by Jonak View PostIs any of the motul oil is 10W40 (in India)?
AFAIK, nobody makes or imports seperate gear box oil for 2 strokers in India. You will have to use 4t bike oil. Petronas fully synth is 10W40 and so strictly speaking, not suitable (RXs require 20W40, right?). IIRC, cost is around Rs. 350 approx. Motul is 5W40 which is again not suitable. I believe they have 20W40 mineral though (Indian).Originally posted by SriramEfunds View PostRaccoon - Thanks for the information. how much Petronas gear box oil would costs ( synthetic)?
For Premix, I prefer Yamalube until my new bore/pistons sets in.
Let me know on this. Does Motul have 2t gearbox oil just like 300V 4t 100% synthetic?
I'd suggest you try Gulf Pride or Valvoline (semi synth, cost Rs. 299) or Elf (all 20W40 only). I plan to use Gulf or Valvoline in my Shogun for the next change. Have been using CRB till now). Valvoline makes some claim of longer clutch life, etc.... check on the box.Last edited by Raccoon; 08-21-2009, 09:55 PM.

What is the best engine oil for ZMA? I was using the HH 10W30 oil made by tide water. Then shifted to power one racing. Not happy with the performance of P1 on ZMA. I was thinking of switching to Motul 5100..... I know grade will not match... still.. what to do??? Which oil will be best? My bike has done 8K km.

Power 1 would be the last thing I'd use. Anyway whats your budget? If its not an issue, 5W40 300V is the closest match for ZMA. Meanwhile, as I said bug Motul to import 5100 10W30 or in fully synth the 5W30 300V.Originally posted by Jonak View PostWhat is the best engine oil for ZMA? ok I will.
Next best options - Valvoline, Gulf, Elf (10W30 only).
Currently I'm using Gulf myself... I find it much better than HH Idemitsu in my CBZ-X.
Btw, some people here say that only HH's Idemitsu and Veedol work best in ZMA... I don't have a ZMA, so I cant refute or confirm that claim. But technically, there should be no issue about tyring out the options above.
Been discussed many times by many members. Please search. In short - forget it... go for Motul instead.Originally posted by gautam View PostHas anyone tried CASTROL POWER 1 RACING 4T"

I was happy with HH oil. But I wanted to experiment as that HH oil the only oil that I have used so far. And changing oil in every 1000km is cumbersome. 300v 5W40 sounds good. I hope it is available in Kolkata.Originally posted by Raccoon View PostPower 1 would be the last thing I'd use. Anyway whats your budget? If its not an issue, 5W40 300V is the closest match for ZMA. I found all the synthetic oils to cause hard gear shifting in Karizma. Motul 300v is good for initial 1000 kms, after that the engine starts to growl. Even felt the same with Sprinta Petronas, Valvoline premium. W50 grade is a big NO for karizma. (I used Motul 300v for two times and drained them around 1200kms both the times).Originally posted by prafultripathy View PostBetter than Motul 300V even?

So you tried the 15W50 300V and not the 5W40 300V?Originally posted by ravi@17bhp View PostI found all the synthetic oils to cause hard gear shifting in Karizma. After Motul, Petronas, and Valvoline, my conclusion is that any synthetic blend is not much effective for karizma. So, never tried the w40 300V. Of course, Motul launched the w40 recently, when I almost stopped experimenting with different oils and got back to HH's 10w30 Idemitsu mineral oil. Did not feel like using synthetics again and never tried that.Originally posted by prafultripathy View PostSo you tried the 15W50 300V and not the 5W40 300V?
A friend of mine recently used w40 300v for Leh ride. I will take his opinions regarding how effective it is.
Satish, the w40 Motul 300v is priced same as w50 300v.Last edited by ravi@17bhp; 08-22-2009, 03:23 AM.HH Karizma (Current) || CBF Stunner PGM-FI || Honda CB Unicorn Dazzler
