Btw, how is it..since you didnt mention abt that..!! 10w40 would work fine for the ZiMA..
All right. I have finally changed engine oil for my 6.4k ZMA to castrol power 1 racing (Fully synthetic @ 10w40). My old oil was still doing well, however I finally gave it to temptation. Its too early to give a proper assessment. But here is the initial impression.

Before I get to it. It is important to note that factory recommended oil change for ZMA is 6k. By the time you reach that mileage, your oil would have degraded to an extend that your engine would be running pretty coarse. When you filled new (synthetic or otherwsie) oil, you may get an instant smoothness and the difference would be quiet noticiable. I am pretty finicky regarding maintenance so change oil(mineral) @ 2k or less. At that mileage, oil is still running pretty good. When I filled 'power 1 racing', the difference will be less than it would, had I filled it after 6k. Still there was a noticiable difference especially while idling and while doing 80-100 kmph. The gear change is smoother that anything I have ever experienced over the other oils (HH idemitsu tidewater/savita, castrol activ). In fact I was surprised that my bike gear has the potential to be that smooth.

In conclusion. Since it is not possible to remove old oil completely, the synthetic is contaminated by the presence of the old oil. I will be changing the oil very early with more power 1 racing to remove these traces of the mineral oil and see how the synthetic performs at its full capacity. Have done 33 kms so far, will complete 66kms by the end of the day, Will give a long term report in the future.

I saw Valvoline in a shop few blocks before New College (side of flyover), Peters Road, Royapettah.

The shoppe has Valvoline and Mobil Oils apart from other accessories.

You might want to try there to see if you can get the your requirement.

Motul - Motul has a godown in Ramapuram near Miot Hospital on Bangalore Highway. If you take a right past Miot Hospital, the road which is very narrow... you will need keep going through the snake road.. at one turning you will find Motul board. They are the Area distributors for the Chennai and TN. I have bought my requirment few months ago. FYI.. Only cash.

                  Cheers!

It is better to call them and check with them if they do have the required in stock before heading out there.

There is a person called Joseph if I could remember correct. He is RM/ AM
who seem to be very good person. He was able to give lot of information regarding the engine oils and explained about two manufacturer's experiment with Motul.

                      • Atlast again i grabbed Valvoline 20w40 Synthetic Blend in my area itself......
                        It costed INR 195.....
                        Yet to replace the oil......

Is it better to Hang with the Same Oil ---- rather than changing different Oils in the bike??

I wondered if i could mix valvoline champ 4t 10w30 with valvoline premium 4t 20w50 to get some average grade approx. 15w40 . The reason being vp4t has a very good performance but is very thick for my unicorn .Any success story on this ?
The Automotive batteries are designed to work best in a typical short start-stop fashion.
So to increase the life of your automobile battery, blow the horn and flash the pass light in a quick start stop fashion instead of a conitnuous long horn blow or flash light continuous on!!
And obviously don't stretch the self start far too long.

u'll definitely get something in between but things donlt really work the way you are expecting.

You are better off looking for something like Gulf Pride 4t Plus or Petronas
