Hang on for some more kms. Maybe at least third service.
Regarding brand, I use CP1R for ZMA-R. Am happy with it. My decision was based on availability. Have not tried other synthetic.

Shell Advance 4T API SM was available in Bangalore two years back. Used it. Didn't like it much. It was smoother than other oils for abt a 1000 KM or max 1500 KM. But by 2000 KM it was like most other oils. I am not expecting the SL grade one to be much better.

          • Well.. I do have a Unicorn and used CP1R for past 7000kms and now using Petronas Sprinta 5000. Both are 10W40 and Honda recommended is 20w40. 10w40 is better than 20w40, u just have to take care that the oil is xW40 for Unicorn. I do 160kms non-stop rides twice every or every alternate weekends and bike is excellent (touchwood). Kudos to synthetic oil.

                • Guys, i was wondering if Yamalube is available here. I think it should be available with the Yamaha Service Centers. I was going through Yamaha Europe Website and came across 15W50 Fully Synthetic Oil in Yamalube. Was thinking if it could be available here in Hyderabad . Any idea on its availability, quality and costs?

Iam a rider who rides at high/peak rpms most of the times and for long stretches. So i need a good synthetic oil that can save my engine and gearbox from severe stress and failure. Motul 300V last me about 3.5k kms last time and heard that it is going to cease. So thinking of an alternative oil.

                  • ^^^ that Yamalube is not available in India.

If Motul 300V ceases to be available, keep changing your engine oil at 1K or 1.5K KMs.

Then is there any other fully synthetic oil which can come close to Motul 300V in terms of quality? Changing oil at every 1 or 1.5k may become very expensive for me . I thought Yamalube would work for me but its not available here.

Else you can try the well known option 5100 semi syn.

else buy W50 3000 4t and change it every 1000kms. Litre cost just 190rs. You'll get it for a lot lesser rate if your buying more no of cans
