my bike pulsar 220 dtsi has done 4000 km in 1 year i know its menacing but my daily commute has been increased to 70 -75 km per day should i switch to synthetic oil or not cos a member suggested that i should go semi-synthetic oil...is repsol available in india

AFAIK the repsol is not available in india. You can use any oil according to your wish. But i would recommend to change to a full synthetic rather than a semi synth one.


A few brands you can try are agip, shell, motul.

what is the diff between engine oils 20W50 and 15W50?
which one is better for Pulsar 200.
please tell which are gud brands for this type of oils available in New Mumbai?
(plz also tell price if u know)

i am not getting perfect answer thats why i am forced to ask at multiple places.. either its ignored..
so finally whats recommended?? pls. tell here atleast..

btw its not answered there.. my question there was how frequently must i change it.. and not which oil..

thats for old engines.. its no longer needed for new bikes.. it enhances the engine functionality and better flow and combustion (not sure abt. that..) of fuel in engine.. its only for old vehicles like scooters etc.. its more for 2 stroke engines.. what we get now are 4 stroke..
correct me if im wrong anywhere.. coz i remember that a long back ago..

I've Honda unicorn CB-150, Purchased on 28/11/2009. 13000 km run.
I'm using Casrol Power 1 Racing (full Synthetic) (10w40) from last 2000 km.
I've no problem about oil, bike runs smoothly, less vibration, fast acceleration, morning quick start (chowk for 100m for day first run). good pickup.

w50 stand for this oil is test for viscosity found 50 on 100*C or 210*F
20w50 stand for this oil is test for viscosity found 50 on 100*C or 210*F as well as in cold conditions also aprx. (0*C)
10Wxx viscosity on also below 0*C

Motul 300V alternative

Hey guys , can you suggest an alternative to Motul 300V for my 3yr Old Pulsar 220 ?
I am fed up of the price increment these Motul guys do every 3 months ... It started off as 595Rs/L now it costs 895Rs/L !!
I looked out for Petronas as well as Shell but they sont seem to sell "X"W50 oil !!

I have stuck to Castrol power 1 (15w40) these years .. Mrp was around 280 bucks... Now i want to try Other oils which are better than power 1 ... can you name a few ?? I am a hard ripper and expecting better acceleration than now....

Also , my price budget is within 350rs ... So is there any better oils than castrol power 1 ??

And Is Shell VSX better than castrol power 1 ?? (Heard so)

Secondly , whats the difference between Mineral , Synthetic AND Semi synthetic oils >> ?

Shell VSX is above castrol power 1 in performance as well as price is also above your budget.

Yo can try motul mineral (i-e Motul 3000 4T Plus 20W40) it will survive for at least 2500 kms
