    The synthetic oil that has come in PBK's is the Bajaj DTS-i 10000.
    This oil is definitely better than the standard mineral oil used.
    No need to do the oil flushing, you can put in this oil directly.
    Just remember that you would need to change the oil much earlier than 10000 kms. I did two small highway rides and got it changed within 2500 kms as the oil broke down.

    As for the degrade part, the DTSi-10K costs only around 100 bucks more than normal oil so there should be no problem in continuing with it.

      Is bajaj 10000 dtsi fully synthetic ?? Is it worth for my bike (20w40) 150 pulsar , whr i rip the bike well ...... ?

      • ^No, the DTSi-10K is claimed to be semi synthetic, I don't know the actual compounds/components of the oil. The oil is 20W50 grade.

        If the bike is ripped when using the oil, it would have a drain interval of 2.5-3K kms only.

        Basically this oil is better than mineral oil (much smoother) but has almost similar drain intervals.

        • Here is my share of confusion about engine oil change.
          My karizma is 6 months & 5100 kms old. Service is due at 5500 kms.

          Till now I have done 2 long rides, 700 kms & 1300 kms so far.
          I daily commute to my office (bengaluru) on my bike in a bad traffic.

          My experience so far.
          1. Hard gear shifting at times (city traffic)
          2. Engine over heating (city traffic as well as high speed cruisings)

          When I say city traffic, I use clutch a lot since I have to change gears frequently.
          I asked service center engineer & he said, more clutch usage will over heat engine.

          Then, somewhere in xBhp I read, FS oils solve these problems to a great extent.
          So, here again I put some questions which are prowling in my mind.

          1. Since I was using HH mineral oil, can I switch to FS oil directly or I have to use SS first (consider mileage of my bike, 5100 kms)
          2. If I change from mineral to SS/FS, is there any kind of cleaning needed? I read somewhere that I need to use some kind of cleaner to clean engine internals from mineral oil remains, also diesel/petrol is strict no for such use.
          3. I wish to stick to 10W30 grading, so any SS or FS with that grade?
          4. Karizma & Karizma R share same specification but engine oil grade. Why is that so? Karizma says 10W40 but Karizma R says 10W30. I am .

                The grade of shell VSX is 10W40 & not 20W40.

                  Hi there! By now you should be able to change to FS. I personally prefer w40 than w30 on my Zma-R due to extreme heat condition in Mumbai. Have used both FS from Castrol as well as Motul with satisfactory result. Both are available in w40. Problem is sourcing them. They are not easily available. So I was forced to use 'Semi-Synthetic' (at least by name ) for some time. Got a bottle of Patronas FS and will try them as soon as bike returns from service today.

                  No need to flush you bike as engine is still new. if you really want to be on the safer side. You can buy two bottles and use one for a short duration. dispose them and put in fresh ones. That what I did . Getting w30 gonna be a challenge though.

                  Btw My bike has run 19k till date. Humming beautifully.

                    You seem to be answering most of my queries.
                    May be it is a "Mumbai" effect.

                    Your idea of engine flushing sounds simple but expensive (apparently).
                    I found, people on other forum tried some Motul/Castrol mineral & SS oils with 10W30 grade.
                    I was thinking of Motul 30004T plus 10W30 & if not Motul then Castrol Power 1 10w30 for next time just because they comply with grades.
                    Will think about SS/FS later on.

                    Patronas FS was suggested to me by Inder as well.
                    And now you, so I may try it out after this experiment.

                              1.MOTUL 300v (15w50)..........Rs.895
                              2.AGIP racing 4T (5w40).........Rs.620
                              3.CASTROL Power1 (10w40)....don't know the cost
