(cant confirm though).Originally posted by abhishek.86 View PostSuzuki Samurai (2003-2004)

the motul mineral oil,or any other standard oil (20W50) will last about 2k kms in a 180... but a lot depends on your driving style. If you rip it a lot and touch 8k rpms all the time, change @ ~1.5k,if you drive sensibly and shift at early rpms, you can use it till 2k kms... Also check your oil level regularly....Originally posted by kasperrmat View Postup to how many kms will the motul 20w50 viscosity is held(engine will be smooth without hard gear shifts and harsh engine sound) any idea about its price.
DO you have any used experience with it?
What about veedol turbo and gulf 20w50?
for a p180 i guess the best oil i can recommend would be the motul 5100 15W50, neither too costly, but still a VFM product and the p180 can utilise all what the oil can give, and you can prolong this oil upto 3k kmsRED BULL did'nt give me WINGS, my BIKE did !!

it was a long time ago,but i used this in a hunk, but ended with gear slips, harsh engine,etc.... could be due to the bike as well... if your required rating is 20w40 or 20w50, i suggest you look intoOriginally posted by Mzee_Maverik View Postany comment on my post?

Moto /Total
Moto 4xt tech -FS - 10W50 - has my approval
Petronas
Sprinta 5000 - fs -10W40 - makes the engine a little harsh, but will increase performance but will not last as well as the other FS
Sprinta 4000 - SS-10W40
SS - are arnd 300~450rs

Gulf Pride Plus 20w40 a very good mineral oil for old zmaOriginally posted by Aneesh@4GHz View PostBro what about Gulf Pride Plus 20w40? Good recommendation for ZMA.
better drain interval, smooth engine. but i recommend FS oil, motul 300v
or SS oils like shell advance AX7 for zma
in my extreme i'm using Gulf Pride Plus 10w30 done 1100kms with this oil. engine is running smooth till now i will try castrol power1 10w30 next time.
changing engine oil every 1500kms.

You can try Shell AX 7 10w40 SS oil. Been using it for around 1k km now. Absolutely happy with the performance. Smooth gear shifts .. good on the whole .. only downside is engine gets hotter than before .. earlier i was using motul 5100 15x50 so naturally the engine was running comparatively cooler than with shell .. costs 290Originally posted by Aneesh@4GHz View PostWhat about Gulf Pride Plus 10w30 in karizma? i think changing grade is not a good idea. 10w40 grade is good for old ZMAOriginally posted by kaka View PostYou can try Shell AX 7 10w40 SS oil. Been using it for around 1k km now. not for xtreme(low pickup, poor mileage, engine over heating-15% less lubrication)
Don,t change the grade to the one ending with higher value at the second part-after WLast edited by akatl; 04-30-2011, 02:00 PM.

The most important thing to note while going for an oil is to first check if it is JASO MA2 compliant.Second is to choose an oil grade closer to recommended grade..and considering our hot temperature conditions it is better to go for thicker oils.Old ZMA had 20W40 and ran well.Present recommendation is 10W30. The problem with thinner oil is under REPEATED heat stress , the oil becomes thinner ,and a thinner oil has lesser heat carrying capacity and hence lesser cooling effect. So it is better to stick to 20W40.A W 50 will be better but will make the bike to rev sluggishly.Originally posted by Aneesh@4GHz View PostI wont go over xW40.
max is 20w40.
Also choosing a smaller range ie.,20W40 10 W30 is better than choosing a wider range like 10 W40 because the Esters added for the value stability is more and it deteriorates faster with heat..just my thought
