  • Guys kindly suggest whether Motul 5100 10W40 is good engine oil and what would be the cost per litre.
Done the 1st service of GT650R using Total Quartz 7000 which is semi-synthetic 10W40 oil and would like to change to MOTUL brand.
    Thanks in advance.

5100 is a good oil. price would be around 450-500 per ltr. it is also semi synthetic.

      • I changed the Engine oil from stock HH engine oil to Shell Advance 10w40 Fully Synthetic for my ZMR. almost done 300 kms. Gear shifting found to be more smooth from previous and finding the neutral in heavy traffic is now easy job, but engine noise has changed and i am feeling like it is louder now... though the engine remain cool and ride is fantastic... will continue it for one more fill and then will plan to change to Motul 7100 10W40 or any other in same category.
Replace the words "I have to" with "I choose to" and notice the difference in how you feel.

if u want to try out various brands then surely go ahead. also post the diff btw shell & motul once u use them. else, shell advance is a damn good oil. i dont understand why they dont produce it xxW50 grade. coz i own a P220. so i cant try it out.

            • Best oil for p220

Hello guys, i bought a pulsar 220F in december and hav done 13k kms till date.
Since the warranty is about to be called off in a few months i was thinking of switching the engine oil. My gears are not as smooth as they were(not sure if its got anything to do with oil ) and Im not atall assured with the quality of bajaj oil.
Which is the best engine oil for 220?
Also if i use high grade oil like Motul 300V is it recommended to use Bardahl oil supplement?

Honda gets the oil from Idemitsu so the 1ow30 from Honda Racing maybe Idemitsu 10w30.
Same will be the case with TVS tru4 semi synthetic oil.

AX7 is a rebadged Shell Advance VSX, which is a highly refined group 3 mineral oil with a better additive package than other normal mineral oils. it will last as much as any normal mineral oil will(about 2-3k Kms). and FYI the conditions which we ride in are not "normal conditions".

In my humble opinion - No .
20w40 is the perfect grade for your climate and bike ( same as mine too ) . What you can do is try out the better mineral oils in this grade like the gulf pride 20w40 / motul 3000 4T 20w40 , and change your oil a bit early .. say every 2000 kms or so .
