Can some one tell me if motul 4t plus 20w40 needs say some intial 200 km run to smothen the engine or engine will be smooth instantly like gulf 4t plus 20w40.

Today poured motul for the first after a long time, but the engine was not that smooth like gulf from right to go.......or is it like veedol swift which takes a couple of hundred kms to get smoothen feeling.

You have to tell us this at 500 kms & then again at 2000 kms ... even I am waiting for your verdict between gulf 20w40 & motul 20w40 .
As far as I felt , gulf was very smooth intially .. but that feel remained there upto about 1000 kms , motul stayed same smooth feel beyond 2000 kms . This is ofcourse my personal nitpicking , both oils are very very good , and usable for probably more than 2500 kms .

            Bro,

I used both Gulf and Motul 20 w - 40 back to back on my GS
the diffrence is Gulf is smooooth during the initial 1000 or i can tolorate it to the max of 1800 kms

And my king motul is bit rough during the first 200 to 500 kms and later it was Smoooooth till 2500 (yeah i changed it for safer sake but even at 2500 it was smooth)

            • I have never used other oil other than Motul 20w40 on my R15 and Libero and for me it is the best available mineral oil. I have had no such issues like gruff gear box, harsh gear shifts and all. Though I keep on changing the oil at every 1000-1500 kms for R15 and 2000-2500 for Libero G5. You can be assured that you have poured in the best available mineral oil. I have no previous experience of Gulf though.

                        • Welcome Paul to the xbhp forums and the never ending debate on motor oils .
The only organic motor oil I have ever used is Castor oil , in RC airplane engines . Have to take apart and clean after every flying day cause of sticky deposits .

                          • Gt Oil

OTG's GTOIL(ElectroMagnetic Fluid) is the only advanced technology lubricant additive in the world that is extracted purely from specially selected plant derived organic materials and resins, through the special process, to form a super lubricant additive with unique electromagnetic properties that produce an 'AIR FILM MAGNET' which results in an almost ZERO FRICTION COEFFICIENT between operating mechanical parts, that then work far more efficiently and economical in their operation.

GTOil SuperLube is simply added to any operating mechanical system to reach all areas of resistance (that cause friction) to enhance their mechanical efficiency. The addition of this causes an engine, machine or equipment to run far more efficiently.

The World first ORGANIC (chemical free) and the worlds best engine oil additive, for all four stroke engines petrol, diesel, lpg, cng, alcohol, propane, and yes specially for hydrogen engines.

                              • The description says that it's an "Organic" oil without any "Chemicals". But if "Organic" means that the ingredients are sourced from plants then they are also "Organic Chemicals" and in this respect "Mineral" oils are also organic because they are refined from petroleum which comes from "fermented" "Organic" material. And technically synthetic oils can also be called "Organic" because the molecules contain carbon and hydrogen mostly. Now if the manufacturers the referring to "Organic" as a marketing term rather than it's implication in chemistry, then I think that if the matter is analyzed logically, It's obvious that the "Chemicals" in our mineral oil is what helps maintain their properties under the extreme condition encountered inside a engine. A purely "Organic" oil would lose it's lubricating property with rising temperature and begin to oxidize. Sorry folks, I think this is one application where "Chemicals" work way better than "Organic" material.
