You wouldnt believe this..... 3 days ago, I went to the corner helmet shop on Lalbagh road "Helmet Paradise", just opp to Urvashi Theatre, and he showed me the same helmet in Cross, and he was offering it for Rs2300/- !!!

Unbelievable, eh? I guess Velocity was right, it looks like Balaji just seems to be bluffing a lot nowadays.

You know, its a pity, because, I didn't think this helmet is fake at all. It actually has a nicely printed catalog that comes wit h it. There is a trademark sign(on the helmet) and a safety certification. The shell quality is parallel with that of Daijya and interiors, lock-switch are actually pretty good. Air vents actually work for a change!

Fakes are getting really good nowadays!

Cool lid Synergizer .. seen this but with a plain visor @ Rs.1700. how much u paid for this.

May be its a different version.. but i cud see the finish and the padding very similar to yurs.. Anyways dont worry vega wont cheat you ..

What can happen to me can happen to you or anyone for that matter. Please double check. We don't want innocent customers like us getting cheated, especially for a thing that might save our lives one day. You can shoot off a mail to vega. They already have a good base in India and they will respond or take action.

I managed to slip out at lunch break from work. Went straight to Balaji Helmets and showed them the bill and the helmet. I straight away told them that I want them to show me the catalog of this helmet or I would send the bill for processing.

The guy who sold me wasn't there. There was an elderly uncle who was sitting and he was very approachable and asked me what the problem was. I told him that I had found out through my friends that this helmet was not worth 5K. He immediately double checked with the sales guys there and they told calmly said yes, this one is worth 3K!!! I showed uncle the bill, and the guys there got a good shout-at. He apologized for the incident, returned Rs1900 and even offered me "chai-coffee-biscuit" . I politely declined as I was getting late for work.

Well I shouldnt really complain about the indian helmet manufactures for not giving us helmets with proper padding inside as I have seen ppl in the helmet stores looking for helmets where they can put in their cell phones and talk while riding and actually preferring helmets with poor padding. Anf I was...

I think the only way to get a bargain on fakes is to shop around and get the best deal. They are all friends too. But they are all competing each other for business as well.

I wouldnt call all of them as fakes either. But its hard to tell one from the other anyway.

Is a GPR worth even despite the skimping on any certification..?

One more piece of information, It seems that the corner helmet shop on JC Road, "Bike Junction" also stocks MPA AGV inner lining! Nobody else seems to have them....

I dont think anyone in Hyd keeps it. Tried Abids, Ministry Road, Helmet world at Ranigunj.. no where could I see the original AGV.. but yaah MPA AGVs are available everywhere...

If anyone is ready to spend 5.5k for a helmet, then my suggestion will be Daijya (definitely).. I own the Daijya Dragon (black) helmet (shown in the below pic). Its an awesome helmet yaar.. It has already saved my cheen when I met with an accident last month (on Sept-22 to saved 2 gals) and the Drs. hvae put 2 screws into my right shoulder.. now I hv started ridin again.. The helmet got a very few scratches on it.. Also its a very well padded inside which makes u feel secure after wearing it..
