sad to hear about your unfortunate incident, hope you are fine now. i know the helmets the ones you are talking about, from my personal point of view they were not comfotable while riding and anywayz im now more tilted on getting an changeable visors for now cause i intend to ride in the noon for purpose and in the nights for touring to nearby places. thanks for the reply will soon update which helmet i buy(probably will be an ls2 cause budget is tight).

Thanx for the concern buddy...that accident was 1 year back. Am absolutely fine. Best of luck with your buy. Yeah, you can go for LS2 and buy a spare clear visor so that you can interchange accordingly.

      • Hi All, I have a white Fazer and I'm going to buy a white LS2, found this pic on the net, but it seems this isn't available in India. Getting a good deal at Rs.2800 from a dealer, which is the lowest price I've found yet. Though the dealer is a certified dealer of Vega helmets,I'm not sure about him and don't wanna end up buying a fake. So can u please show me some pics with the embossed safety rating and the stitched marking on a genuine LS2. Thanks in advance.

I guess these are the FF series helmets. But that said, I think what you're looking for is in this thread, but you have to go way backwards. LS2 has markings on the back of the helmet where its certified standard logo can be found.

          Cheers!

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

What is the logo? What is the rating?
            Is it stickered/embossed?
What is stitched on the strap?
Pics would really help.Haven't found any pic showing the safety rating or the stitch.

Embossed is different than stickering, they are mostly stickered with a coat above them or they are designed in the very way to be show the safety standards, so that's not an issue, unless the sticker is completely peelable as barcode stickers.

That said the logo is back on the helmet to it's immediate bottom, at the end in the middle, you can clearly see EC 22-05 +- 1.4 that is the one you will see.

The thing that is stitched on the strap relates to the specific country standards which it is manufactured in, basically that doesn't need to be looked at. All you need is the stickering on the back with ECE or DOT certification

              Cheers!

Correction - embossed and stickering are two totally different processes. Embossing is foolproof, where the certification is layered under the clearcoat of the helmet and cannot be peeled off or tampered with. Stickers on the other hand are just pasted labels and can be easily and are often tampered with. The DOT does not accept stickers and if you find a DOT helmet sticker you can rest assured its a fake. Some EU countries accept ECE stickers but many have started insisting on embossing too.

I guess you are right. Was searching for Helmets online and came across this one.

How To Measure for a Helmet - YouTube check out this video on how to measure your head size and the right helmet.

Double visor helmets are dual purpose visors, one, the external visor acts as protection from wind, dirt etc, the internal visor acts as sunglasses. If you have a clear main visor, you can go ahead and use sunvisor inside the helmet on those sunny days.If you have a tinted visor, I'd advice you not to bring use your inside sunvisor, as it could hamper your vision. At least it happened to me!

                            Cheers!

The outer visor is not tinted.
