Hello,

I was looking for a new helmet in the range of 1500-2000. I have a titanium grey apache rtr-fi.

It should be a full face helmet (it should cover the chin).

The helmet should look good, be safe and suit the bike. (Please do let me know if i am asking a bit too much for the price range)

Visor should be usable in the night as well.. do we get photochromatic visors ? (like spectacles which become dark on exposure to light :P )

Please do give me the brand, model number and the price

I am from Bangalore. (A good place to buy would help me a lot)

welll we have similar tastes n issues...
i had a fastrack racing stripes with a wicked cat on it for 2.5k .... unfortunately for me ..its lost...long story some other time......

gotta admit i have a grey(or titanium ) rtr n that lid used to look killer....

exactly! i wear leather riding jacket, cramster gloves and GPS half-face helm. there is no skin bared and with this, if the face too is covered with this skull, you could imagine...

the only good shop is Balaji Helmets on lalbagh road, haven't tried Bike Junction on J.C. road but both are pretty huge, everybody buys from him (balaji helmets), and buy from that Obese old uncle on that shop, i guess he is the only guy who knows how to treat customer.

Balaji guy can give u a Vega (export model) for ~Rs2600. That's the best deal. Try it.

well u can say so as all of the other dealer buy stuff from him, you should be really good at bargaining skills at balaji, also i would recommend bike junction on JC road as my previous post

Yes they are cheats. Picked up a GP One helmet from NR Helmets yesterday (not sure about the name, its among a bunch of shops before the petrol pump) for 1800 bucks. They dont have much variety - AM & some Cross helmets along with Vega & lower priced helmets. But you know that you are not getting ripped off there. They were quoting 2400 before discount for AM. Noticed a large shop down the road called Helmet Paradise, will check them out next time. Try these before making your way to Balaji.

Am attaching a picture of the new GP One taken along with my GP One on the right. The other picture is of a matt black AGV helmet I saw at Orion motors - it costs 15 thousand bucks ! Imported it seems ....

i used to buy at Balaji before.. he wastes a lot of time and his warranty aint the best.

I got the helmet at megha helmets..

I got an AM helmet for 1750.. will get some pics and upload it asap

the only thing im concerned about it is that there is no ISI mark on it

but the shop keeper said its not an issue..

Is it safe (a good and trusted brand) and is it worth the cash ?

The other one i liked was a vega boolean at some 1450/-

please do let me know if ive been ripped off.. coz i can return the helmet within the next two days

@hydbiker i did look at a vega imported helmet which was priced around 2.5k but .... it was too big for my head and physique coz im 5ft 4inches .. infact all other brands bhp, cross, gpr etc cannot be used by me

1750 is a good price for AM helmets, is it the matt finished one ?

1) are they safe as they dont have the ISI mark ? (I have read almost all the posts o.O .. and no one seems to talk about AM helmets.. i have really started to doubt them :|)

I guess it is an imorted helmet and hence you dont have ISI mark on it. It might have DOT sticker on it.

BTW, look our for an ISI helmet, make a similar sticker from a sticker shop and stick it to ur helmet.

Quality standard = Thailand diversity & refinement au 0022/00 & Thailand TIS. standard 369-2539 approved

you mean i should get a plain helmet and get it stickered on ? i doubt the finish and will have to shell out another 3-400 bucks

Got a new Helmet from Chopra. WLT. Helmet is really light weight. He said it is DOT approved. Look is awesome (I liked it). It is rubber coated. Price 2.8K (I am broke now)

My friend also got a new helmet. Plain black rubber coated. Proce 4k

helmet paradise gets helmet from Balaji only yaar, i went to him first he took 30 min to bring large size of boolean, when i checked he was getting it from balaji only and quoting Rs. 200 extra, have someone tried bike junction?
