If you have brought the helmet from an authorized dealer, then it will be original.Originally posted by redknight1990 View Post

It is part of outsourcing to keep production costs low. Doesn't mean it is bad in quality.Originally posted by redknight1990 View PostHow to know if it is original or not. I am seriously doubting the originality of my Mt geometric 3.

Note down the name of the dealer and check with Spartan Pro Gear, shoot them a mail to find out if they are part of the authorized dealers for the helmet.
If they are then it should be a genuine one.
And talks about the "Made in China" stuff has been talked to death in this very thread, search back a few 100 pages and you will find a trove of knowledge on this part. If you wish to learn the full details on it that is. If not, just try what i mentioned above.
Cheers

Re: Helmets
I think MT is originated in Spain, just like Ls2 have their headquarters in Spain, all ECE approved genuine helmets will have the origin country marked,Like spain code is E9 and all genuine ECE helmets have a code number which starts with 05,check the chinstrap or the visor for such code and E9 logo,if you have it its a genuine productOriginally posted by redknight1990 View PostHow to know if it is original or not. Re: Helmets
I have posted couple of pages back that my 6 months old MT helmet's stiching is giving up. I don't know is it enough time for a helmet to show wear and tear but i have not used it more than 15 days a month and during august i did not even touch it as i was in ladakh. I wrote a mail to SPG and i am still waiting for a reply. i hope other users those who own it for more then six months are not facing same issue. I was about to buy a new MT for my wife but now i am giving second thoughts to it. To talk about quality is too early but yes i m also doubting it on the basis of my experience.Originally posted by redknight1990 View PostHow to know if it is original or not. and yes i bought it from a authorised dealer. I can see E9 on visor and chin strap so i believe its original.

Re: Helmets
Even my MT helmet stitching is giving away. Mine is hardly 6 months old.
A friend of mine got a replacement pad, I was too lazy to shoot a mail. I removed the lining and stitched it myself. If it gives away again, then I'll push for a replacement.

The first Axxis helmets imported by SPG had a removable neck collar and for the first time at this price point, a four piece internal liner construction, as is common on race spec helmets. The neck collar by design cuts down wind noise originating from wind hitting the torso and travelling up into the helmet causing turbulence. However, to be effective, the neck-collar needed to be tight -fitting and many lesser experienced riders and dealers who didn't understand the advantages of a snug fitting helmet complained about the collar being restrictive, since these were being used more for everyday use than actual track. What SPG also found was that dealers started sometimes removing the collars at point of sale, in order to fit customers easier.
Also, the neck collar by virtue of its tightness was subject to more wear. In a more mature European market cheek pads and liners are considered consumables and changed as and when necessary, but not so in India. Recognising this, SPG offered free replacements to customers who wrote in with a worn neck collar, even though it was not actually a manufacturing issue.
Subsequent to this and market preference for an easier to use comfort padding, the Axxis being imported now has a regular three piece internal liner construction, just like all the other imported helmets in the market, which is why somebody posted awhile back that the lining looks different.

Re: Helmets
This can also be a matter of education. For example I did not know that the cheek pads etc are considered mere consumables, now that I know that I will happily replace them as and when required if I buy that kind of a helmet. Probably a small booklet/ pamphlet along with the helmets can go a long way in educating the customers as well ensuring that customers are able to enjoy high quality products. It can also mean additional revenue opportunities from selling spares..Originally posted by Sunnyside_up! Not just the cheek pad. I second the inclusion of a proper manual with these helmets. Figured it out by trail & error.Originally posted by rusty_mechs View PostThis can also be a matter of education. Re: Helmets
you are right these are considered consumables but that dose not mean that we need to change them every 3-4 months. There are other things also in life which are more consumables then cheek and neck pads but we don't replace them so early. do we?Originally posted by rusty_mechs View PostThis can also be a matter of education. Re: Helmets
I looked into this and found that your mail was sent on September 18, 2014 12:01 AM and was responded to by the HelpDesk on the same day, 18/09/2014 at 15:00, assuring you of assistance and service and asking you to send in the product for warranty validation and replacement. What else would you like them to do? I have also asked the HelpDesk to resend the communication.Originally posted by bavlo View Postshoot them a mail is what i did but no reply from SPG. sorry i got mail from SPG help desk. last evening i repaired my neck pad and stitched it inspired by a friend who posted here and repaired stitching of his neck pad at home. Sorry for the trouble brother. I would like to know that is separate padding in medium size available for axxis? is it possible to use medium paddings in my large axxis?
Thanks for your support.
