We all know that the helmet will ultimately protect the head and hopefully the gray-matter inside it. But, there are good quality helmets available in, say, 4-6k range as well. All he (Leon) is saying is that instead of spending all the 11k in the lid, it would have been a world better if he would've spent say 6k on the lid and the rest 4-5k on an riding jacket or gloves or such other safety gear. That's all! Nothing to get so hyper about, mate.

i am sure that this should make a scooby here...

actually when we buy a helmet what do we look for the money that we spend. i am sure that when we spend 11k, 4k, 250 RS we are noot just looking at the graphics and all that stuff. it depends what a person may need. i ride a bicycle and me wearing a 11k HJC, shoie or what ever helmet does not make a sense, cause if i crash the max speed i may be doing is what 50KMPH, similarly i ride a bullet if i crash max i might be doing is 90 KMPH so for that going for such a hig standard helmet does not really make sense. helmets have different designs when it comes to strength and they come with the various feature that depends on the rider what they want.

for example DOC uses a AGV or what ever helmet the one that we get in the market of the same brand sells for 1500 or 2500 and i am sure that DOC's helmet is not for that kinda amount or it does not share the same strenght like the one that we have...

i am sure that i might have been able to make a point

Where did you get the "hyper" from?
Also, the guy bought himself a decent quality Helmet for 11K (did he mention that because he spent 11K he skipped on the riding gear or anything to that effect?)

I contacted "performanceracingstore" via e-mail and they quoted a price of Rs 7500 for S-07 and a shipping charge of Rs 1800(wtf?)

one very imp factor in the price of the helmets being high, 40%import duty,12.5% vat, 5%octorio for mumbai, thats making up more than half the cost of the 11grand that i paid for the helmet

If ordered online, then what are the custom charges that are payable once the lid reaches the Indian shores? This was discussed earlier in the thread, I remember vividly, but can't search through 584 posts; please if someone could help.

@Ajinkya: See the positive side; atleast you could see, feel the helmet before you got it. If you would've got it from overseas (by ordering it online), then you would have been stuck with the piece you ordered even if you somehow didn't like it once you got your hands on them. Premium products do have their price, eh? I loved the graphics though, goes perfectly with your red P-220.
