Can you gimme the link to the FB page??Originally posted by Sunnyside_up! View Post@akshay - you can purchase through the webpage already - hundreds of helmets have been delivered all over the country in areas not covered by resellers. Simply write into the contact centre with your requirement and they will guide you. Bank transfer is preferred so as to avoid the 7.5% transaction fee of cc's.
The Spartan ProGear website is almost done - but you can get a glimpse of the FB page in the meantime.

@sunnyside_up was interested in the riding pants & glove. If you remember me that I had spoken to you once on phone. My body dimensions are HUGE. So will it be possible to get a pant in my size??
PS: Sorry for discussing off-topic issues

Remove all the liners. Be careful to unclasp the snaps and not just yank them out. Cheek-pads and the main skull liner can also be removed. Dunk the whole thing in COLD (normal tap water temperature) water mixed with mild detergent like Surf, Ariel, etc., leave to soak for about 5-10 mins. Then rinse thoroughly in fresh water to get the soap out. Remember not to leave any soap residue as it can irritate your facial skin. Squeeze dry - do not twist or wring. Dry in the shade, or under a fan. Snap back on , simple!
The Visor can also be cleaned by snapping off and using something like household glass washing liquid and then rinsing thoroughly under a tap. I wash the visor after every ride under a tap with plain running water with just the palm of my hand to rub off the grime - and then pat dry with absorbent tissue/toilet paper. It work fine and I'm still on my original visor after about two years!
The main shell can also be cleaned with a very mild soapy solution and then waxed with a silicone polish. Be careful not to use petroleum products as it would damage the clear-coat finish of the helmet.
I do the above about once in three months and my SOL 68s which is about two years old and used over 30K kms, still looks brand new!

I bought it from a shop named Jobsons on Banerjee road. It's a VFM helmet. The only concern I have is whether the went at rear-top allows water inside. I didn't get a chance to check it in the rain. It doesn't have open-close mechanismOriginally posted by Dagger View PostrixBhp, From where did you get the rhyno in Ekm? . Did you check at Auto Queen for SOL? Somebody told me certain models of SOL may cause lot of wind noise at high speed. Sparx s-07 seems to be better in that range.
Love the ride, not the destination

I tried Auto queen, they were having only two pieces of 48s, yellow-white and blue-white. I am looking for red white as I am having R15 LE. I have asked my friend in Chennai to check if it is available there. If that also fails, I will go for Plan B.Originally posted by rixBhp View PostI bought it from a shop named Jobsons on Banerjee road. It's a VFM helmet. After washing I will polish it (I dont have tinted visor) with waxpol. So that it will have a smooth surface, which helps in rains.Originally posted by Sunnyside_up! Thanks for the details, Sunil. The way I do it for my SOL48s is take out all the paddings and inner lining, put it in the mashing machine along with my jacket (without armor) and allow the machine to wash it the regular way.Originally posted by Sunnyside_up! View PostRemove all the liners..
Visor and outer shell - I wash it with my bike shampoo (Armorall wash n wax) when I wash my bike, post which it becomes kinda water resistant/ repellant.
Would appreciate your comments on whether the above is good maintenance.

Would suggest that you hand-wash unless your machine has a gentle hand-wash setting. Also be careful not to use hot water, as it will affect the adhesives used in the seams. Squeeze dry to drip off excess water and then let it drip dry in the shade with good breeze or under a fan.
Heat in any form during washing or drying is to be avoided.
