I am awaiting delivery of my Thunderbird 500.... was thinking of buying an half helmet with a visor. I know that they do not provide good protection as offered by full face helmet ...... but i also like to feel the breeze and I'm a leisure rider. I also have a option of going for a modular type. Can somebody please suggest a good half faced ( with visor ) or a modular one???

Re: Helmets
You can buy the AVG Brodie from the bullet showroom itself, which is a bullet official merchandise. Though I doubt whether it has a visor.Originally posted by prashant_m View PostCan somebody please suggest a good half faced ( with visor ) or a modular one???

Re: Helmets
If you have ever used a good full face helmet you would not have complained for the breeze or any reason ........... they have enough vents to keep you happy ............ just take a look and BTW with a half face helmet you tend to risk your jaw and chin in case of an unfortunate event ........... It is always better to have a natural jaw than an iron wired one ....... now its your call buddyOriginally posted by prashant_m View PostI am awaiting delivery of my Thunderbird 500.... was thinking of buying an half helmet with a visor. Re: Helmets
Try the Studds Range if you're into the modular ranges. There are lots of new models out with in the Studds range which are compelling and quite good. And my favorite being Ninja. And you have the LS2 Modular FF370 etc. But if you're looking for cost effective stuff, look no other than Studds range.Originally posted by prashant_m View PostI am awaiting delivery of my Thunderbird 500.... was thinking of buying an half helmet with a visor. Though I'd *strongly* recommend you to get yourself a good full face helmet with proper ventilation channels.

Re: Helmets
Hi All, I am planning to buy a new Lid.. My budget is around 3-3.5K.. I went in search of LS2 Phobia (Blue) but it is not available
And after fall of rupee's value suddenly all prices have gone up for new stock.. Old stock is not available..
I saw THH helmets and some LS2 in my budget..
I liked the THH helmets, anybody using them please share your review of the helmet..
Please suggest me any good helmet in this range..Bikes don't leak oil,

Re: Helmets
THH or TIH is being used by quite a few members here, and they have posted quite some photos pages back, you can try searching for them at your prudence. But in general TIH or THH are really affordable budget helmets and they come close to Cross models. Cross again is another budget oriented brand.Originally posted by DebayanS View PostHi All, I am planning to buy a new Lid.. My budget is around 3-3.5K.. Re: Helmets
I would suggest you to rather wait for a few weeks to see if there is any better face of the economy coming up. But listen to me only if waiting is a possibility as per your needsOriginally posted by DebayanS View PostAnd after fall of rupee's value suddenly all prices have gone up for new stock..
As far as the entry level ECE/DOT rated helmets are considered the most popular brand is LS2 and then are Cross and TIH/THH. But keep your eyes open while buying as the fake ones are flooded like anything in the market. please feel free to come back for any further discussion.

Pranav

I had a Vega Eclipse.. it was a lovely helmet.. got picked up from my bike
had to buy a helmet then and running short on cash at that time got a Zing for temporary use..[ i knew that it was not a good decision but had no choice
] now its damaged and has no visor
so need a new one asap..
So I go for THH/TIH helmets right?
I saw them at a shop which is a bike accessories shop http://www.adventureontherocks.in/
The look and feel, fit and finish were good of the helmets.. And they are in my budget too with a lovely design that matches my bike and me
Will be heading out there this weekend thenBikes don't leak oil,

Re: Helmets
just got a confirmation about Ls2 safety standards from facebook ls2 techdesign team ukOriginally posted by Sunnyside_up! View PostThat's what's being claimed. But I'm skeptical since the FF351 weighs 340 gms less and is much lighter and therefore has to be a different construction. How can they be the same model if they have different construction? I don't buy it.

Hi, is the ff 350 and ff 351 model same?also does the ff 351 having weight of 1350 gms have sharp 4 star rating as per uk govt safety scheme and is the helmet ece/dot approved

Tech Design Team Uk Ltd - Ls2helmetsYES it is the same model,The old FF 350 was bulkier and weighed approx 300 gms more. The current model is compact in look and is much lighter at approx 1300 +/-50 gms without any compromise on safety. It still complies with the ECE/DOT safety standards and had received 4 star Sharp ratings.

Re: Helmets
Yes if you like the TIH, then go for it. If you find anything better in the same brand, range, budget try considering them too or try considering LS2 as last ditch, considering the latter is comparatively better than the better.Originally posted by DebayanS View PostI just loved the look finish and fit of Phobia ~Felt like an

Re: Helmets
Recently I bought a cross. its model is cross phobia, similar to ls2 phobia. I just want to know whether I can increase the cheek padding since I bought a large size when I needed a medium size. I did that since in my town there's only 1 dealer for cross helmet and they had only small and large size in stock
