Yes I am a tourer. And hence wanted a light helmet. Long rides with my current kinda heavy helmet has caused me neck pains.
I'll check out SOL SF-1. Is it light too ? Know any shops in Mumbai ?
I own a 200NS so riding continuously above 120kmph is not what I'll be doing.
Any other I must consider ?

Touring helmets are typically heavier than sport helmets, so if its weight that is your primary concern, the SF1 may be too heavy for you. It will check all your other boxes though.

i live in nagpur and even getting genuine vega helmet is difficult ,forget about ls2's or MT. NO awareness about helmets or riding gears here. my frnds call me fool for spending 3500 rs on helmet, .... not a single shop selling these end helmets... ..couldnt find MT online, so got ls2.. was a good deal..

Its not the ONLY option. But its one of the best option. SOL SF-1 is little heavy but i dont think it ll create any problems, if you are not so sure try to find someone who lives near by your place and try it then buy it.

          Let me know your decision.

I use SF1, best helmet in the market for summers as it has got 3M inner padding, keeps you cool and sweating is very less as compared to other lids.
Winters, u have to cover the ventilators with tape so as to avoid the cold wind from entering, not the ones which have a switch to close the vents, the ones which are permanently open for blowing out hot air from inside.
Only problem I face is the helmet is heavy and the visor quality is bad, very bad, hazzy view and at times u get headache because of the strain it puts on your eyes.
No wind or whush noise inside even at 130kmph oh the highway, I did 900kms in 11hours, felt tired as compared to my sparx pow.
Strain on the eyes, Because it is heavy, neck pain after long rides is normal.
Fit is very good, better than sparx.
Overall its slightly costly and heavy.
Buy HJC instead of buying SOL.

              Hi friends.
Today I enquired about MT helmets at AH helmets, andheri, Mumbai. I liked the fit and finish. It is large size but surprisingly fits me well though my some is 57cms. I was quoted 3800 for plain white and for graphics may be something around 3995. For extra tinted visor 800 Rs. If paying by card then VAT extra on cost which will be around 4.5k. So tomorow I might buy one on cash. Confused between white plain or graphics one.

The MT India range will be expanding soon, with launches planned over the next six months, with other models too being introduced. Do not expect the same kind of pricing though, as the other models are more expensive.

                    Greed!

Credit card companies charge the merchant a service charge of less than 2% for every transaction. Some merchants charge their customers this even though it is a petty amount - a reflection on the mentality of the trader. 5 % extra is fleecing you and unfair, not to mention I think illegal.

Tell him that if he doesnt agree to the proper price (whether you want to pay 2% extra or not is up to you), you will order the helmet direct from Chennai. The cost of the helmet in Chennai is less because of no VAT but the shipping cost will negate the price advantage. Ultimately you pay the same cost from Chennai as from Mumbai, but he will not want to lose the sale and is likely to agree. Also insist on a proper tax invoice as that is your warranty.

Oh - and don't quote me!

                      Hi friends,

I got my new MT helmet.

Fit is good. I think medium padding will be a snug fit but i was told that in future only cheek pads will be available in medium size.
Cheek pads are already fitting well but i think its the inner padding that seems to be a size loose for me. Though its not much but i believe a helmet serves u well if its a perfect snug fit from all sides.

For a better fit i will use balcalavas

I will update about the inner environment and overall feel after a month of use.

                      Few pictures.

                          LS2 helmets in India-

I was searching around for a decent helmet with international certification (for a friend). He settled on LS2. However, while snooping around the website, something did not feel right. So I started digging.

Please observe one funny thing in the website -LS2 Helmets, contact of Laxmi Automobiles is mentioned but if you click on the shops tab of the site, even the country 'India' is not listed. How is that possible?

                          All guys who believe that
www.ls2helmets.in is company owned website, please see this - ls2helmets.in Whois Lookup & IP | Whois.net.

You can get confirmation that this website is owned by Mr. Anil Gupta of 376/377 nana peth pune 411002. It is the address of Laxmi Auto. It is NOT a website of company.

Link to LS2 Philippines show you an address of Spain as local contact :-)

This is the original company's website.
                          http://www.mhrhelmet.com/index.asp They manufacture two brands - LS2 & MHR.

Their 'Network' page does not show any presence in India. -http://www.mhrhelmet.com/net.asp

Now decide whether the LS2 helmets available in India are genuine or not.

I think you need to sharpen your browsing skills.

SOL website link takes you directly to SPG website. Arai clearly mentions PRS as the authorised dealer. Same applies for most other brands that are sold in India. MT servers have some technical issue with the servers that host SPG's website. That's why the SPG website is down for the last two days since hosting servers are being changed. You should soon see the MT link too.

Anyway, you're missing the point. Vishwas was trying to make an altogether different point.
