Re: Helmets
The AXXIS and REVENGE are tapered, aerodynamically contoured and sport oriented helmets suitable for both track and street. Style-wise they are edgy and aimed at a younger audience. The BLADE is an all-round helmet and the SV version (with sun visor) has the added convenience of a retractable internal sun visor. It's more rounded and plush than the first two models and therefore preferred by tourers and highway riders. The MATRIX is again an all-rounder whose focus is on weight. While MT's are not generally considered heavy, the MATRIX takes the weight factor to a new standard, almost competing with the lightness of carbon fibre but at a fraction of the cost. The OPTIMUS is a modular/flip-up helmet aimed at tourers and cruiser bikes. None of the models listed above share the same shell or interiors and are all unique in their construction.Originally posted by krish2778 View Post

Re: Helmets
So, revenge and blade do not have the same shell right..? I actually liked the sun visor but since it doesn't have the SHARP rating,I'm a bit thinking twice.. any idea about anti fogging since we spend about 5k + on these helmets..Originally posted by Sunnyside_up! Re: Helmets
MT is slightly higher at 4100/- but is good for the price; I would suggest you to try one as they are extremely snug. You can try the MT variants at moto 101 in Mumbai. Other lids at that range are THH and LS2. Personally, all the three share a lot of similarities - check'em out.Originally posted by Siddharth Shekhar View PostHello Everyone ,

most people have already responded to ur queries, so agreeing with all said above ill just add this.
The MT and LS2s are really decent helmets in that price range. One thing to bear in mind is that there are people reporting FAKE LS2s being in the market, so please research what a fake one is so you don't buy those. Ive used an Rjays GP2, then an Airoh Speedfire and currently use a HJC FG-17. In my experience, what matters is two main things, Fit and Ventilation. It should fit you snugly. When its on, you should not be able to comfortably push ur pinky finger between the helmet and ur forehead. It should be snug on the cheeks. Don't worry, it will loosen a bit after use.
Then Ventilation is very imp. It will be the major comfort factor which will decide if u can use ur helmet for hot periods and for longer rides. Most people look for front vents but forget about rear extractors(also called rear vents). When you ride, a vacuum is created behind ur head, and through the rear extractors the hot humid wind is sucked out and cold wind enters from the front vents. The rear extractors will define how good ur ventilation really is. Make sure its not a cosmetic touch (some helmets have vents that are not real vents, just look like them).
Another imp thing is spare visor availability. Thats one thing that always happens, visors get scratched, and you HAVE to replace them or ur helmet is useless and potentially dangerous riding with a scratched visor that hampers vision, so go for a brand that has spare part availability or buy a spare visor with ur helmet.
So keeping all in mind, the MT helmets are really good. Do check them out. Moto 101 https://www.facebook.com/Moto101Mumbai has a good stock and very helpful people running it. You may have to push ur budget to perhaps 4-5k but its ur head, and thats something that deserves the investment.
Best of luck, and do lemme know if there is anyway we can help.

Re: Helmets
+1 to that., Aadhil, Visors are like spare parts of a bike, without their availability its totally useless.BTW I have an MT Revenge
Totally VFM., but here the dealer does'nt ship MT Visors, but he suggested me to go for Cross Helmet visors as it is a direct fit.!
So please enquire about a Helmet's visor before you buy one

Re: Helmets
Thanks for your detailed reply [emoji1] . I have narrowed my search and fixed it to MT revenge or MT Blade . Will be visiting Moto101 this weekend . Will buy the one which is comfortable . After all it its my head . Wont mind shelling another 1.5k for it . I hope spare visors are available for them . If available I will buy a spare with helmet only .Originally posted by aadilnaik View PostHey Siddharth,

Re: Helmets
Hello all,
so i just booked the RE TB350. ETA, mid January. I want to buy the helmet before hand so that i can ride without any hassle. gloves and jacket planned down the line.
i already posted this in the universal gear thread, so please dont bash me, im just a bit over excited for my life's first bike [an RE at that] and a bit protective about my precious skull. :P
i am based in Pune now, and i would like to know about shops which have a good stock of good quality biking gear. i have my visions set on the likes of MT, KYT, SOL etc, and my budget is ~5K for the helmet only. i know about a couple of shops on MG Road/East St, though havent seen them. and i have noticed one on the road beside FC Rd. has a lot of helmets on the window, with LS2 being the most prominent.
also, I plan to pick up a balaclava coz i sweat a lot, and frequently do not shave.
so suggestions about a good balaclava too will be welcome.
