@KID MONK : You ride without permanent license??

MT Blade R series - Comes with D ring (as per Spartan site), so it can be worn on track days.
MT Optimus Quest - Doesnt come with D ring, so cant be worn on track.
MY Matrix - Comes with D ring
MT Axxis - Comes with D ring

And all the helmets can be worn for touring. And the speed thing"y" you are saying is known as wind noise. And it depends on person to person whether they are ok with it or not. And it can be curbed using earplugs.

P.S : If I know right every one has round shaped head. I have not seen any human being with square or rectangle head

First of all I 'rode' without permanent licence for 3 days (Im 18 yrs old and I have adrenaline rush &#128521 second the blade series I saw on d j helmets ,Kochi didnt come with d ring system and they said they haven't had any d ring blade series helmets till now (on 26 November 2014) next what I ment by round was the shape of the helmet . The axxis series I have now is like an i20 after fluidic treatment 😊 its much much more aerodynamic than blade series

I saw on d j helmets ,Kochi didnt come with d ring system and they said they haven't had any d ring blade series helmets till now (on 26 November 2014) next what I ment by round was the shape of the helmet . Few pages back the supplier of MT helmets had said about the D rings and few without them .
He also mentioned that blade is aimed for tourers and commuters and axis & revenge series are more like track oriented .

Ratchet is beneficial for touring/commuting because it is simply more easy to remove without opening the gloves and takes lesser time in adjustments. On the contrary, D ring ensures that the helmet stays on the body part where it is meant to be, even in case of severe falls and that's why the track orientation. Permutations and combinations, and debates can go on & on but practicality and priority is what matters. D ring is rated higher in terms of safety on any given day.

Few days of practice and I can strap or adjust the D ring with gloves within 5 seconds flat! Added safety too IMO.

Hi all

Im using MT Blade helmet and it has noise issues (esp right side ear) over 50kmph. Anybody else experiencing the same? Not liking the swooshing sound, speeds like 80-90kmph are unbearable.

Eshan my Mt axxis has no problem whatsoever till now at high speeds and since yours is a different series of mt helmets that too a slightly higher variant i believe it may be faulty but just to make sure are there any others using mt blade helmets? Best you ask them they may have the answer

I have an MT Balde and I ride a 390 ,I do feel that the helmet is a bit noisy .

Well, I am using Revenge with ratchet lock.. I always wanted D Ring but that time when I purchased my helmet it was not avaliable in neither Blade or Revenge so I gone ahade with Ratchet.. So far I have covered good 2000-3000 kms in my Revenge. I used it strictily for touring. Only problem, I cant use tinted visor cuz most my ride end up in returning after dark so I am using it with clear visor. Its not problem of Helmet though. I use glasses so i am planning to get goggles with number. Wind noice is minimum till 85-90 then its okiesh noice you can handle that with earbuds.
I have posted query here that I want D ring on my helmet. But sunny sir told that it was initial lot of MT series so they provided ratchet with it. Well it was my short review, anyone wants to go with Revenge, the surely go ahade, its great helmet in that price range, and its weight is also good 1450gms. So you can manage on your head for long time..

Got myself a cool MT Blade Super R today from Moto 101 wanted to go for Blade SV and said he wont get stock like till next month so settled for this beauty.Could feel the difference the moment i put it visor down it has a such a silence so much noise reduction loved it.Have a new bike hence keeping it under 45 for the run in with helmet on it touched 55 for a few mins and I could hardly notice it due to silence and smoothness of helmet else anything above 40 my old safe helmet would make swish sounds like crazy

Is the difference between a small and medium size helmet that of padding inside or is medium size helmet actually bigger than small size helmet? The reason I am asking this is because recently I purchased a THH helmet. Initially, it looked perfect to me but then later, after trying at home a few times, I thought I should give one size small a try. Went to the shop but he inserted some extra padding inside and then it fitted perfectly to me. So, wanted to know if that's the right way to do it or if I should have actually gone for one size smaller helmet.

That would depend from manufacturer to manufacturer... Most manufacturers have the same shell size, but diff padding thickness for different helmet sizes... Other manufacturers have diff shell sizes... Usually even the ones that have diff shell sizes, don't have diff for each individual size... So for eg, the XS and the S will be having the same shell but diff padding thickness...
I'm not sure what ur particular THH one is, but if it fits you well with the changed padding, it's fine

Protection isn't a job alone to the styrofoam inside the helmet, but padding plays a big factor, not only for the fit but for impact protection too. The padding acts as shock absorbing layer and thus protects the head from laterally induced injuries inside the helmet.

What the makers do once they have a number of different shell sizes, is use greater or smaller amounts of padding to produce the different sizes of fitment. So, for example, if they produce a helmet in two shell sizes – say a small and a large shell, then to make a helmet that’ll fit an XL head, they’ll use the larger shell but fit less padding to accommodate the larger XL head. To make it fit a size L head, they’ll use slightly more padding, and so on. And as long as they have enough padding for each size (and padding is a pretty exacting science these days as they use multi-density foams to add as much shock-absorption and protection as possible) then the crash helmet is going to do its job.

Yes the MT whistles past 95 especially on the Duke 390. But surprisingly was quite stable in my 220 (now sold) Crouching does help on the Duke 390 and works like a charm on the 220. But overall, yes it whistles.

A: ‘Noise’ experienced in a helmet is very personal. One person may feel comfortable with a certain noise level, while an other will experience it as very uncomfortable.The source of noise in a helmet is mainly the environment (wind, traffic, motorcycle). But also the position of the rider on the bike and the configuration of the bike are importance. A windscreen or fairing on the bike, but also the size and shape of it will have a great influence on the noise level within the helmet, because it will influence the turbulence around the helmet. And it is the turbulence at back of the helmet that is the cause of the highest noise level within the helmet. Spoilers may reduce the noise level and in fact the Diffuser on the RX-7 Corsair and the Formula Duct on the Condor will help to significantly reduce the noise levels in those helmets, because they act like spoilers.We extensively tested our helmets in windtunnels, but also on the circuits and in normal traffic conditions, with various motorcycles, speeds and the weather conditions. These tests proved that Arai helmets are more among the quietest helmet tested. In fact the RX-7 Corsair and the Astro/R are the most quit helmets in our line-up.

Na, its on other bikes as well. Last week I had a ride (Single) on the Z800 and on a R15 V2. Noise disturbance past 50kmph were observed, highly unbearable over 80kmph. For the Z, those speeds came quickly, the disturbance stops the enjoyment of riding. I wanted to know if thats normal or if there is a defect in the helmet, Yes, the only solution is ear plugs but is that normal or do I have to get it checked? MT helmet users reply.

I currently have the Mt axxis with me and I could reach only 70kmph on it 😞 after than I chickened out since I felt that my 2006 wasn't reliable at that speed but no I haven't felt noise disturbance then but it could be felt when visor is upped
