A "flip type" helmet is not really advisable as in case of a crash, it might injure you instead of saving your skull! Always ride with a full-face, quality lid. That would really be safe, not to mention looks good as well..

even i wear glasses as well as sunglasses with number...for a full face helmet not a problem even if u wear a balaclava inside..

does get a wee bit stuffy on standstill but no issues whatsoever while riding

                cheers

                  thank you for reply.

Let me ask just one specific question, i had ninja for 3 yrs as studds need 2 handed operation to be opened so seems more sturdy as flip up, but never met with an accident. So which one suggested

Ninja or a Full face and which brand.

                  • I would say there is a preference aspect when it comes to spects and helmets. I have tried full face helmets with my glasses and I don't know, but I dont feel comfortable at all. But with the modular ones I dont feel that. And also, with the modular type, I dont have to take out my spects and wear the helmet. Manufacturers like Shoei, Arai, Shark, KBC make modular helmets with keeping crashes in mind I guess. And I have read reports of people having crashes wearing modular helmets surviving without a scratch. Ofcourse they wear reputed brand helmets. ISI marked helmets may not always be upto the mark. We don't know whether they pass crash tests properly or not as here in India anything is possible. I have tried the Studds modular but I didn't like the fit of it.

                    • i am also considering schuberth any idea abt price though i have a feeling it will cost a bomb! if nothing works i will go for AGV or something. Are DOT and ECE ratings good enough, as i read somewhere ISI is equally good as none of them really do tests for chin area

                      • Just a word of caution before a "closeout" purchase on US online stores.

Few reasons I wouldn't purchase other than 'perfect fit':
                        1. Most of them could be old inventories. Spotted KBC VR7 for $39.00, (eBay item 370152905751) only to discover its 2003 product line. methinks Anything mfg beyond 2007 not worth the buy.

                        2. shipping to India - Can't trust India Post -through US Post. Helmet likely to be manhandled even if FedEx, DHL, UPS.

                        3. Friend bringing it: Only if he carries it as cabin baggage. Better get it myself.

& ISI anytime, over Chinese imitation goods.
Its lid shopping time for me @ J.C Road. Budget 2k. KBC costs a bomb here. Likely contenders: AGV (MPA), Torx, Studds Bravo. Anything better I could find at this price?
P.S: I'm now living with Globe Knight Rider.
